Sky/silverlight on my mac

Hi On switching on my i mac today i am experiencing major problems with pop-up ads.

Regardless of which web site i go on i.e apple, sky etc once the site is loaded pop-ups keep appearing and there are lots of them, some examples are 1. Media-file.org, 2. Jm-pe (powered by Offerz4u) 3.Videostripe 4.Lotto770.com 5. En.alon.gameforge.com etc etc Once i click on the x to remove other appear??

I have been trying to watch sky sports, but every time i try to sign in a pop up appears and i am unable to proceed.

I was also told that i have 10 couponsUser uploaded file on the apple webpage, but if i use the "go to folder"method to find and remove they do do seem to be in my library for me to remove.

Can anyone please offerUser uploaded file any help to sort this out

Regards

In response to the above problem yesterday I was advised to load www.adwaremedic, this solved the problem and i am now clear of pop up etc.

BUT ever since then i have been unable to log into Sky go, I get a prompt that suggests a problem with Silverlight, I have removed and reloaded Silverlight for mac several times but the problem still exists.

Could there be a connection to using adwaremedic? has anyone a solution or any suggestions.

Thank you

Adwaremedic is a good product and is not causing a problem. One thing you may want to do to avoid popup ads is if you use Safari go to Safari - Preferences - Extensions - Add Extensions and add AdBlock.

Not sure what's going on there. First, try completely removing Silverlight. Quit Safari. In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu. In the window that opens, enter the following path:

/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/

Then click the Go button. Remove the Silverlight plugin from there. Now re-open Safari and re-download Silverlight. See if that fixes the problem.

If it doesn't, try logging in to a different user account on your Mac. You may need to create a new user for this purpose, which you can do in the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences. Test Safari while logged in to that account. Does it work there?
