can't get any map on my apple watch

Opening Plan app on my apple watch, show me only a grid and no map !

Unbelievable that this problem still occurs almost 2 years after this thread started. What worked for me was unpairing (including backup and resetting the watch) and repairing the watch.


For those who did not do that before (like me): No worries, your watch (esp. settings, apps, watchfaces) will be like before. Steps are described on https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204568.


The other solutions above like doing a simple or nearby search did not work for me.

I have a stainless steel Apple Watch I received on 5/22. I updated the OS to v1.0.1 and I'm pairing with an iPhone 6 running iOS v8.3. I'be tried the solutions in this thread, and none have worked for me, up to and including redoing the pairing process. I have a Genius Bar appointment tomorrow early afternoon; if they are able to repair this, I'll post back here.

I have an iPhone 5S on IOS 8.3 and my watch is running 1.01 (had the same problem before the upgrade) and I it is the same problem with only a grid showing in the map app.


I also tried all the reboots mentioned here in this thread, also tried unpairing and restoring the watch from a backup. None of these options worked.


Will try to contact Apple and get a Genius bar to see how it can be fixed.
