Audio on windows 8 wont work

So I have successfully installed windows 8 on my iMac and I am very happy with the results, everything is working perfectly fine except for one thing. I cant seem to get my audio to work. I installed windows 8 using a USB drive and when I booted my Mac I did something to do with EFI and that got the installation to work. After the installing all the provided drivers the only thing not working is the audio, please help!

Do not wipe any of your partitions. You have another option. This will allow you to boot from an external device, without wiping any partitions.

OS X: Installing OS X on an external volume - Apple Support will let you install OSX on an external USB

The steps in this article erase and reformat the storage device.
Your storage device must have at least 13 GB available (after formatting) to install OS X Lion or later and a Recovery partition.
This article instructs you on setting up a storage device to use the GUID partition scheme and the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format, which are required to install OS X and a Recovery partition on your external storage device.
You should back up any important files that are on the external storage device to a different drive.
This procedure installs a version of OS X that is compatible with the Mac it was created with. Using this OS X system with a different Mac model may produce unpredictable results.
Your computer's serial number is sent to Apple as part of this process to help authenticate your request to download and install OS X.

Great! Thank you so much, last question, when I would install windows 8 using the Bootcamp assistant when it reboots it asks me to load a cd or something like that in order to proceed and it was a black screen with white text, hopefully we are thinking of the same thing, but basically that led me to using efi in order to proceed in the installation by holding alt when I started up my computer and selecting EFI. There was no "windows" option there. And from what I read that makes it to a BIOS legacy instead of EFI so I can fix my audio issues.

Are you using a physical DVD for Windows installation? This issue comes up in one of two cases.

1. Physical DVD used for installation was burnt incorrectly (rate of burn is not supported by physical media), causing block errors on a physical DVD.

2. The ISO used to build the USB installer is corrupted during the download process from the source. The ISO can be validated by finding out the expected MD5sum/SHA1 from the source of the ISO using OSX (use openssl md5 command) or Windows (FCIV tool - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/841290?wa=wsignin1.0).

I used a USB installer but another problem has came up when I start bootcamp

The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.

The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows.

Can you post the output of the following Terminal commands?

diskutil list

diskutil cs list

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

The "sudo" commands will prompt for your password, and it will not be echoed back. You may also see a warning about improper use of "sudo" and potential data loss due to "abuse" of the command.

Your iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2011) - Technical Specifications has a built-in Optical drive. Did you have to modify Bootcamp info.plist to enable USB installer creation via BC Assistant?
