I have an Iphone 6. After restarting my device, it has asked me for the 4 digit passcode. i have the same passcode since i have the and i never changed it until...it changed by itself. How can this happen?

The passcode doesn't just randomly change itself. If so there would be millions of users complaining of not being able to access their device. Most likely you used something different and at the time you set it up or changed it there was a reasonable explanation for it but now you don't remember what you used. This happened to me too. But my case was weird. I had a brand new reset iPhone and I put it in a hidden place. The next morning it had a passcode. Don't know what happened!

The passcode on my iPhone 6plus changed by itself while setting up my iPhone 8 plus. So yes they do change by them
Yep just happened to me. Same passcode across all my devices for over 7 years.. now it doesn't work and locked out. This is ridiculous, my last backup was over 6 months ago..
BS!! I didn’t change anything!!! This happened to 2 of my cells too. The only way to unlock it is to update and restore them! Apple did something! It wasn’t me and I’m ******!
I just had this happen to me. I was restoring a backup from iTunes to a 6s. When I woke up, the passcode changed from 4 to 6. Honestly Apple, what the ****?!?
I had that happen also. Use your original 4 digit passcode but put 00 in front of it. It worked on mine and unlocked. Then I went back in and reset it to my original 4 again.
