Since the last iOS update (9.1) on my iPhone 6S, I have noticed that nothing is linking to the Health App. MyFitnessPal, Strava, and even Apple Watch (iOS 2.0.1) all are not showing up in sources. I have turned on the Privacy>Motion & Fitness>Fitness Tracking to "On" for all apps. What am I missing? Is this something where the iOS Gods/Goddesses just haven't fixed the glitch since moving to iOS 9?

In the Apple Watch App, when I go into the My Watch < Health and try to enter my Birthdate, Sex, Height and Weight, it takes the data but if I exit an go back in it resets to "Not Set" on all fields.

Both the iPhone and Watch have been reset twice and no resolution to any of the issues.

Any help is appreciated!

I'm sorry to say that I have been living with this issue for 3 weeks. I logged a support case with Apple and there has been no resolution. I even went to the Genius Bar and got another brand new 6s Plus iPhone issued to me. But it still does not sync with my Apple watch nor does it allow me to enter Health data and it will not log my activity data. Even though the Apple watch continues to log activity on its own. Apple please fix this!

This helped me. Turned of motion tracking and back on. Then opened the watch app and searched for an Apple Watch with the qr syncing thing and then with the other option. I don't have an Apple Watch. Then I restarted my phone with sleep button and home button held down until I saw the apple logo. Showed up as a source and eventually my data was being saved.

I am still waiting on a fix here too... no data sources in the Health app and the Activity app will not work (stuck on set up on watch). I’ve tried almost every solution scenario posted with no success. What does it take for Apple to acknowledge there is a bug, and give us an update on a fix or workaround?! There is no consistent way to resolve this issue. Apple, please help us!!!

I am having the same issue. I have the iPhone 6 with iOS 9.1 and the Apple watch with iOS 2.0.1. Everything worked great on Oct. 30th. Didn't use the workout app again until Monday Nov. 2. All of my data in the Health app was gone. No sources show up, not even my iPhone. The watch is tracking my activities, but not being transferred to the phone. I have unpaired the watch and paired it again. Tried rebooting them both multiple times; nothing has worked. Health app says my personal information has not been set. It let's me enter the information, but once I go out and back in, it is gone. I thought about resetting the phone as a new device, but don't want to lose all my information, especially if it doesn't work. Called Apple Support, upon transfer to the next level, I was disconnected. I waited for a half hour for them to call me back. When they didn't, I called back and they asked for a phone number in case we were disconnected. Got disconnected and got no call back. I am too irritated to call them again. This type of support is unacceptable.

Hi

I was having the same issue for several weeks. I ran every version of iOS from 9.0 to the 9.2 beta. Talking with technical support seemed to be no help. Aside from the fact that they finally mentioned its some kind of software issue.

The solution that someone posted that seems to work is restoring your iphone as new and doing a backup, because its the backup that is corrupted.

I think I have a solution that seems to work for me that didn't involve losing all of my other data/information.

health data is automatically backed up if you use icloud or encrypted itunes backup, but if you do an itunes unencrypted backup the health data and settings are ignored.

So here are the steps I followed:

  • Complete an unencrypted itunes backup
  • turn off find my iphone
  • under backups select "restore backup" ... not the "restore iphone" setting
  • restore from your latest unencrypted backup
  • turn off and on the setting to use the iphone as a health info source

After this I was able to see my health data. unfortunately it looks like I lost all my old step info but at least it seems to be working now. Also as a side note I just setup my apple watch as a new device as a precaution.

Why my iPhone is not showing as a device source on Health App? There is no source!
