Still using iOS 7.2.x and not planning on upgrading to iOS 8.x considering the on-going issues with that newer iOS!

Sometimes, the alerts will stay the same correctly...

For example...

1st alert... 2 days before

2d alert... 1 day before

Then update manually until event begins.

Sometimes, it'll still switch!

Sometimes, it won't switch if you set the alert parameters further apart...

For example...

1st alert... 2 days before

2d alert... 2 hours before

Then update manually until event begins.

Anyone find any Permanent solutions?

It's Unbelievable that Apple Still did Not correct this glitch!

Thanks!

This has been an issue for me with every single iPhone I've had beginning with the iPhone 4. I've had the iPhone 6 since last year and this issue still drives me insane. The settings should allow for an Alert default and a Second Alert default. Even when I try to set the Even alert to one week before and the Alert for 2 days (or vice versa) nothing works. I've tried everything and canNOT find a solution to this. My preference is to have the first alert be one week before an Event and a second alert be 2 days before.

No matter what I set it at in the Settings, when I go look at the Event again, the Alert and Second Alert is the same. Try to change the Second one and they end up both being the same. The only time I've ever gotten it to stick is if I keep changing it incessantly and after several minutes it finally sticks.

I'd hate to have to switch to another calendar because I have a Mac, an iPad mini, and my iPhone and I'd really like to use the default Apple calendar so they all sync back and forth.

No, I haven't said anything to Apple because we all know it typically doesn't do any good anyway. You who don't seem to have an issue are lucky, because it literally is enough to make me want to throw my beloved iPhone across the room in frustration!!!! lol

All these posted threads have helped me find a somewhat workable solution to have 2 alerts for my calendar events. Hope the following is helpful to 3dit0r and anyone having this problem.

This became a problem for me when I updated my iphone 5 to the Yosemite operating system. Previously, I could set Alert 1 for 2 hours and Alert 2 for 30 minutes in that sequence and it worked fine. After Yosemite, it switched and wasn't working properly, so for a while I just set one alert. Today I just upgraded to an iPhone 6 plus, hoping the issue was fixed. Not! However, I tested the alerts and found that although they are not listed in sequence as I'd like, they do sound in the correct order. That is the 2 hour alert sounds before the 30 minute alert.

This is what I did to make it work:

1. Under Settings in Mail, Contacts,Calendars; go to Calendars: Default Alert Times; set to 2 hours before (or whatever you prefer as your first alert).

2. Under Calendar; in a new Event; it should show:

--Alert 2 hours before

--Second Alert None

3. Next, under 2nd Alert add 30 minutes before (or whatever time needed). The alerts will flip as follows:

--Alert 30 minutes before

--Second Alert 2 hours before

It does not make sense, however, the alarms sound in the correct order for me. I tried various combinations of times and as long as the 2nd alert is the furthest time from the event, there should not be screwy duplicate times on each alert. I have not had alerts switch on their own.

I "chatted" with an Apple support rep about this issue and although she tried to help, she hadn't heard about this issue before. I believe it isn't on their radar to fix because it is minor and many users don't bother with alerts. For those of us who rely on the alerts it is a big issue, but I am making due with what I have and chalking this up as a first world problem and moving on.

Good luck!
