Option to set watch face to Always On versus on Wrist Raise

Does anyone else out there wish the watch face would have a feature to set the display to be always on? From what I can tell the only options are Activate on Wrist Raise. The look of a watch face versus a black square would look a lot cooler also when I want to see the time I want to see it NOW...I know first world problem. I am assuming the battery life needs to be taken into consideration but if I choose to wear my watch for only 10-12 hours a day with the watch face display Always On, I would like the option to do so.

Hey Apple engineers can you make that happen??

If I am using the outdoor cycle activity or the outdoor walk activity for several hours and want to record the track, I also have to recharge the watch more than once a day. And there is no warning before starting a six hours walk or a long outdoor cycle btw., only an alert to switch to low energy mode after two hours of outdoor activity - usually then I am very far away from the next power outlet where I could charge the watch again. Even without showing the watch face all day we can drain the battery very quickly by trying to track outdoor activities.

My son just got a Samsung Gear watch and it has the option of having the time always visiable with out killing the battery for a normal 12 hf day.

I know the battery on my new sieries 3 is great because after an 18 hr period it is still on 80% so why can’t I have the same opinion.

This seams like a simple software fix so why aren’t we being acknowledged by Apple in reguard to this.

If they fix this on the 3 I will remain a loyalist, if not then I will have to move to a Gear which is compatible with my iPhone X and round and less than half the price.

Agreed. I love the Apple Watch for what it is, but I do see a lot of features from other brands that I want my Apple Watch to have. But it's annoying when people say "*** then just go buy a samsung watch".

Once again, buy the watch (whichever one that is) that meets your needs. Don't waste your money on a watch that you wish would meet your needs but doesn't.

I suspect leaving the screen always on would take the battery life down well below 10 hours. Apple is known for not including options that it feels will make their devices function in a way that doesn't meet their standards. I'm not saying you have to agree with that philosophy but it's been pretty consistent

Personally, I don't care what is on the screen of the watch when I'm not looking at it.

While I agree about not having it on all the time, it would be very helpful to have a mode where it stays on for more that 15 seconds. As it is currently the Apple Watch is useless in a medical environment, where it's necessary to measure pulse or respiration for 60 seconds. I tried using the stopwatch function, but that also turns off after 15 seconds or so, which makes it useless for, say, timing track events. And I HAVE submitted feedback, specifically suggesting that the stopwatch app keep the display on while timing. That could also be used in a medical environment.
