My Apple Watch won't update

I'm trying to update my Apple Watch Sport model. It has more than 50% battery, I'm on WiFi, and it's plugged in and charging. I've tried restarting my iPhone and Watch and nothing happens. My phone says Installing on Apple Watch but nothing happens on my Watch. Once I put the passcode in on both devices, my phone just continues to say Installing but it's really not.

I can't update Apple Watch Series 2 to watch OS 3.2.2.

I reset the watch after it stopped working today and it started tracking my activity after but trying to install update 5 times with multiple reboots didn't work.

Either watch is faulty or software is half baked.

What worked for me was to turn off both the watch and my iPhone 6 plus with iOS 9. I also turned off my Bluetooth, and turned it back on. Then I attempted to repeat the download of watchOS 2, and it worked. I now see my Apple watch loading the new software with the circle around the Apple icon slowly progressing while installing. Previously, my attempts at downloading and installing the software resulted in the phone hanging on the "verifying" process. Had attempted to repeat the download, but it repeatedly failed. Only after I turned off the watch and the phone did the download and install process work.

Mine "hung" on verifying.

I came here and read this post and thanks to all: I turned off both the watch and the iphone and within two minutes it finished verifying and is now installing and during which time the Apple logo is on the Watch.

I also had a "this hardware is not approved by Apple (sic)" for the Watch appear a couple of times although I only use Apple chargers and cables so not sure what that was all about.

Try these steps, which have reportedly worked for others who have experienced issues at the "verifying" stage.

However: do not interrupt your iPhone or watch if the process has already reached the stage of "installing".

On your iPhone, close the Apple Watch app along with all other open apps (double-press on the Home button, swipe up on the previews).

Restart both devices, turning both off and then restarting your iPhone first.

- To turn your watch off (removing it from the charger temporarily): press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag the slider to turn off.

- To turn your watch back on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Then try updating again.
