AMD Radeon R9 M370X Struggling to play games (i.e. GTA V) - bootcamp

Hello I am running bootcamp with windows 8.1 pro.

I have the latest retina Macbook pro (mid-2015) with AMD Radeon R9 M370X graphics, with 2.8 ghz processor and 16 gb of ram.

it's completely maxed out spec-wise, yet it struggles in bootcamp, for games.

I haven't been able to try it with other games, but with GTA V it is really struggling, it lags, even when the lowest resolution settings are on, and is next to unplayable.

Is this what I should expect with my maxed out macbook? Or is there another issue that maybe causing this.

Thanks in advance!

Things I have tried:

- Update graphics drivers, (which windows says its up to date) but I'm unsure if it is or not.

At the moment I run it at 1200x800 with everything on normal, apart from shaders and reflections which are on high. Antriscopic filtering I keep at x8 and also have FXAA on. I use the steam in game fps counter so I know exactly how its performing rather than self determining if it is "lag free". I get 60 fps when I first load in. Quickly turning the camera drops fps momentarily down to around 50. Then with general play it fluctuates rapidly from 60-40 sometimes even down to 29 for no particular reason. It's bearable but I expect more for £2.5k.

Dont know, whats wrong with AMD.

-AMD (They are trying to get my drivers updated. ..LOL )

-Apple (An executive is in touch with me and he has recently asked for the configuration on which I am playing)

The most logical source to be contacted is apple (of course). Lets see when does this issue get resolved.

What do Executives at Apple and AMD say about this issue?

For everyone who has been having issues playing games with this model of computer. 2015 Macbook Pro with AMD m370x. I have found a solution that has stopped all problems for me, and has resulted in amazing performance in Bootcamp Win 8.1 with all of my games. NO LAGS, NO STUTTERS just smooth gameplay at steady frame rates.

Step One: Install El Capitan public beta

Step Two: update El capitan public beta through the app store

Step Three: reinstall Win 8.1 through Bootcamp. (note though, that it will not auto-boot into the correct partition this time, each time the computer restarts you must hold down the option key and select Windows)

Step four: follow all normal steps for installation, after windows installs you will be prompted to install Bootcamp drivers. CLICK YES!

Step five: you are almost done! When prompted by AMD control panel for any sort of setup, select NO and CLOSE. Do not attempt to update any drivers or tweak any AMD settings.

DONE! FINALLY AFTER PERSONALLY WASTING 30 DAYS TRYING TO FIND A WORKAROUND FOR THIS I HAVE SOLVED IT! Hopefully my instructions will help all who have visited this forum and maybe apple will get their "stuff" together and release an update or something. A $2500 USD computer should not have any issues like this but unfortunately since Steve Jobs passing, apple has had their hands up their butts doing nothing, relying on their enormous customer base to just buy every piece of tech they put out.

thanks and good luck! Please reply back to me if this works for you!

I'll let you in on a little secret. The bios of the computer that controls the management of its parts on the most basic level is controlled and updated by Osx. I believe that el Capitan had updates that solve these bios issues. I could be wrong, I could be right... It doesn't matter, follow the steps that I say and I guarantee that if you have the same computer as me (m370x) it solves the problems.

You're welcome BTW.
