Touch ID no longer working with iOS 8.4

AS the title says. I updated to 8.4 on my iPhone 6 and Touch ID no longer works. I tried some of the suggestions that were online referring to similar problems meant for people when they updated to 8.3.

TThey don't change anything.

anyone else have this problem?

I got the IPSW from iTunes. I used my MacBook Pro with Yosemite and I pushed restore iPhone. Am I the only person with the Touch ID problem?

You did not indicate that. Most individuals when reporting they download an ipsw, means they picked it up somewhere else and forced a restore with it, rather than letting iTunes download and install the correct ipsw. As far as you being the only one, there are the few listed here. I've not witnessed any others. See this listing from Apple's support document on Touch ID.

Get help with Touch ID

  1. Make sure that you're using the latest version of iOS.
  2. Make sure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.*
  3. Cover the Home button completely. Don't tap too quickly, don't press down hard, and don't move your finger while Touch ID is scanning. Make sure that your finger touches the metal ring around the Home button.
  4. If you're using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn't cover the Home button or the surrounding ring. If it does, remove the case or screen protector and try again.
  5. Tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and make sure that iPhone Unlock or iTunes & App Store is on. Also make sure that you've enrolled one or more fingerprints.
  6. Try enrolling a different finger.
  7. If you can't enroll any of your fingers, take your device to an Apple Retail Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact AppleCare for help.

* Moisture, lotions, sweat, oils, cuts, or dry skin might affect fingerprint recognition. Certain activities can also temporarily affect fingerprint recognition, including exercising, showering, swimming, cooking, or other conditions or changes that affect your fingerprint.

I think I've tried all of that. I will try to wait for an update or contact apple support. I restored my device with the software iTunes downloaded, which is compatible with my phone, i'm assuming.

Only you would know if you tried all of that. There would not be an update unless there was a widespread problem, and contacting Apple Support is what is listed there in the material I provided. I suggest you make contact with them.

I Found out for my iPhone 6 with ios 8.4 that the touch id didn't work for anything. Oddly enough my phone was plugged into a charger and I took out the charger and it worked!!!! And I tested this theory by plugging it back in and that for some reason affected my Touch ID and when it was unplugged it worked fine!

IDK if this will work or if this Is your problemo but thought I'd mention it
