Hello, I have the solution for this problem. This is the most popular thread on the 1th side on Google so I decided to share it with you.

After you canceled the Apple Music subscription and you'll get the error message "To change stores, you must first cancel your Apple Music membership" you have to do the following steps:

  1. Go to the App Store
  2. Click on the picture frame in the right upper corner
  3. Scroll down to sign out and click it
  4. Close the App Store
  5. Go to Settings -> click on your name on the top -> iTunes & App Store
  6. You will asked if you wanna change the store country after you tipped in your Apple-ID, so click on confirm
  7. done

I hope this help. I very happy because my Apple Music subscription expired in December.

HEY EVERYONE,

THERE IS ANOTHER WAY TO DOWNLOAD ANY APPS, IF YOU DON'T WANT CANCEL YOUR APPLE MUSIC MEMBERSHIP.

BUT IT WORKS IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER APPLE DEVICE CONNECTED TO YOUR APPLE ID.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY IPHONE. BUT I'M DOWNLOADING APPS VIA MY MAC AND THEN TRANSFORM THEM TO MY IPHONE (VIA ITUNES)

HOPE IT WILL WORK FOR YOU GUYS.

P.S. ON MAC - THERE IS MY HOME COUNTRY. THEN I CHANGED MY IPONE, AND I CONNECTED MY APPLE ID, BUT THERE WAS US COUNTRY AUTOMATICALLY, AND I COUND'T CHANGE IT BECAUSE "APPLE MUSIC MEMBERSHIP".

The way this has been even thought by programmer is dumb.....

Why is there more than one app market in the first place ?

I hate this, I can't update the Post-App and I need to go to the post office on purpose just to pay a stupid bill because of this.

I hope they have a really good reason for wasting our time this way. We should bring them in a court, just to waist our time discussing about this.

I found that as long as the Apple ID/sign in details were the same for each store you've been associated with in the past, you can just go ahead with 'buying' the app again, but before charging you the store realises that you already own it from another country store and give it to you for free. This is an awesome result, but one that Apple should really promote. Even better would be if the 'Buy' button automatically changed to 'Get' or something, regardless of what store you happen to be currently signed in to. But yeah, attempt purchase and it should be fine. Always works for me. No need for subscription cancellations or store changes.

This is a completely ridiculous problem. I'm visiting New York and want to download the Citi Bank Bikes App. I've cancelled mu Apple Music and Apple Matching (neither of which I ever used), and now have to wait nearly SIX MONTHS until I can use this essential app. Good gracious, I am astonished. There was no warning at the start of the subscription that such an eventuality would arise. Fantastic hardware, dodgy software!
