Can't change Country/Region after cancel Apple Music membership !

I can not change Store Country on my iPhone after cancel membership (turn off Automatic Renewal), still always get message "To change stores, you must first cancel your Apple Music membership". How can I do ? Please help me, thank you.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.4

This situation is truly unacceptable.

Nobody (!) can change store easily and Apple doesn't seem to understand such an obvious flaw.

Hello Apple, we really have a problem and we are ones who are paying you.

Can't agree more man... It really needs to think this itunes country thing over... because this really doesn't suit at least 20% of the users now, who are global citizens, and live in many different "cultural contexts" ... For instance, me I want to be able to choose between more then one country.. I would like USA+Spain+Mali+Lebanon, all together...

Just realize that this may not have been completely Apple's decision. This may partially have come from the contracts drawn up by the record labels. Some artists won't allow certain albums to be sold (and probably streamed) in different countries. There are many subscription services out there that allow you to cancel but still give you full benefits to the service until your current subscription or trial ends. Amazon Prime and Spotify are two that I have used in the past that I "canceled" but they still saw me as a customer or user of that service until the full period was up.


Depending on why this was put in place, it could be a long time (if ever) that it gets changed. Hopefully more warnings will be put in place when people sign up.

Hi everyone. I was equally frustrated by this. But it seems that there is now a workaround. If you call Apple support they will be able to cancel the subscription. You lose out on the free trial, once you've downloaded the content you need from the other store and switched back, but that was a small price to pay in order to access the pro apps that I rely on.

I'm not sure about that, Laphong, as I had only been streaming content. With the DRM files I imagine they will either not work or disappear when the trial is cancelled, but will be accessible once you sign up again. With iTunes Match the DRM-free matched files are yours to keep, but as I understand it, this is not the case for Apple Music. Re-subscribing today though, I noticed that all my music preferences had been retained, which was handy.

Once again I am proud of Apple, problem took only 10 days to fix... I have an ongoing problem with the vodafone website in my country, it has been a year and not solved yet.. Just to compare 🙂 I had to wait 20 min on the phone, they must be overwhelmed, but they fixed my problem ASAP, no questions asked.. Of course, doing that we loose the trial, keep that in mind.. THis what happened to me. I have pressed the link, the app store has switched to the US store, but I can't download apps from this store even if they were purchased. I can only show the US apps. When I tap GET, I receive this message "your account is not valid for use in the US store, you must switch to the UAE store before purchasing". I have deleted my UAE credit card, nothing has changed.

Есть выход 🙂 У меня та же ситуация, но магазины были Беларусь-Россия. Звонишь в техподдержку (в Москву) - всё по телефону решаемо. Они отменят подписку (бесплатную) и ты сможешь сменить магазин.

Одно но - больше бесплатного периода не будет. Только платно. Но 2-3 у.е. в месяц это фигня по сравнению с возвращением в российский магазин 🙂

I have been able to resolve this issue by calling Apple Support free phone number (UK in my case) 0800 275 2273 and asked them to cancel my Free Trail. I was advised I would loose my free trail once it is cancelled and would not be able to reactive it. I was able to switch region and iTunes Store from UK to US after the phone call.
