Siri not working over LTE in iOS 8.4

I updated my 5s (AT&T) to iOS 8.4 this morning. When I tried to use Siri to voice dial (or anything else) the phone either didn't respond, responded with a list of things I can ask, or (finally), Siri saying "It seems I've lost my internet connection." But, I wasn't even trying to use the internet to make a call. Also, other internet apps work. Siri works fine over Wi-Fi, but that does not help when I'm driving.

Anyone else having this issue?

BBeen having this problem in mid Missouri for the last 2 days. Finally started working around 9 pm CST. Interestingly it wasn't working on some family members devices even though they hadn't been updated yet. As weird as it seems it obviously wasn't a bug or it wouldn't have fixed itself. Thank goodness I can use Siri on my watch again. It was pretty worthless without dictation.

It didn't fix itself—it just didn't require any intervention from users to work properly again.

In my post from earlier in the day, I suspected AT&T had blocked access to Siri for whatever reason or by accident. Once they re-enabled that access, everyone was good to go again. It would be like your ISP blocking CNN's website and then allowing it again—you wouldn't need to do anything for it to work again.

All clues point to AT&T as the culprit.

Looks like the issues I've been having today were fleet wide, so to speak. Today, from about 8.30am PST until about 6.30pm PST, I was unable to use any Apple services (Music, Find my Friends, App Store, iTunes Store, etc) via my phone or via AT&T's network. Since then, it looks like everything is back up.

But that doesn't explain why I wasn't able to tether on my way to work this morning. 😟

Regardless, it looks like it's fixed out here in the Bay Area.

Siri iPhone 6

Working With WiFi and Data

Problem: Siri not working or only works when phone is connected to WiFi.

THIS SHOULD WORK WITH iPHONE 4S AND 5 AS WELL AS iPHONE 6.

First thing to do is to turn off WiFi Connection so you can check out if Siri is working with your Data Connection.

Settings > WiFi - Turn It Off

Now - Follow these steps:

Settings

Cellular > Scroll down to Use Cellular For:

Siri > Locate Siri and check to see if it is turned on. Turn it on!

NOW IF Siri IS NOT LISTED:

Settings

General

Siri > Turn off Siri wait a 10 seconds and turn it back on

Now return to home page.

Quick Reset of iPhone:

Hold down the HOME BUTTON and the POWER (Sleep/Wake Button) at the same time until the Apple Icon appears. Wait until it completely does the Quick Reset. This will take a little while! After it is completely Reset try to use Siri again by asking it a simple question.

If this fixes the problem be sure to go back to settings and turn the WiFi back on.

This method should work if for using both WiFi and Data. If Not! Call (800) 694-7466 Apple Support.
