I am unfortunately having the same problem on my Macbook pro. I think it started yesterday so I then update iTunes (to 12.2.1.16) but it has continued. I don't know if it is linked with an iTunes match problem as I am also unable to set up an iCloud music library (it comes up with a unexpected error code 4010 - which other posts suggest is a problem associated with match - which I have been using since it launched)? Up until now I was loving apple music, but yet another issue means so far I have not been able to add music to my library / playlists (error 4010) and now can't even stream music. All it needs now is for radio to stop working and my hard drive to wipe and I'm going to be a very sad panda!

Not added such value to everyone's posts so far, but hopefully someone (unlikely to be Apple!) will come up with a reason why this is being glitchy as ****!

Cheers,

Have you tried either putting your Mac in the DMZ on your router, or even trying it connected to your iPhone personal hotspot Instead of your router. That will then help narrow it down to your router, if it works.

It's strange it is working over a proxy server and also that iTunes is working via your windows PC.

I assume you have tried it without any firewall enabled...?

I did say that but it didn't last long. I think it has something to do with DRM restrictions. I was able to play a handful of songs on the Windows version, but anything new that I hadn't played before just skipped.

It appear that in the UK the servers are not recognising memberships correctly. Every now and then I've received a message saying that my account had expired. I've checked and it's all in order should run for the full three months.

@Fil1010, take a look at Tunnel Bear, www.tunnelbear.com. There is a free version to see if this works for you, it's as easy as installing the software.

After a weekend of fun messing around trying to get Apple Music back.

The best solution for me has been to update to the Norton DNS settings, details on how to set this up are here https://connectsafe.norton.com/homeuser.html

Tunnel Bear worked for me yesterday, but having to be permanently routed via the US isn't a good long term solution.

So far Norton DNS has worked for me on both my Windows and Mac machines.

Hopefully Apple will get it's act together and address the real problem sometime this week, but Norton DNS seems a pretty good solution that I'll continue to use regardless of what Apple do next.

Perhaps sky are after more cash for the extra demand on their servers that is being caused by the new apple music service... It must be simple just to switch off a port or two and hold Apple to ransom until they part with some cash.

Just a 'silly' guess of course, but in all honesty the FREE new service must be quite an added strain for the providers that are suddenly being asked to cater for all this new internet traffic. Three months of free streaming for every PC and mobile device must be quite an added burden to any network.

I am having the same problem.

I am on Sky but it works fine on the same network with my iOS devices.

The problem seems to be iTunes on the iMac for me.

Radio works fine and music videos play OK from the 'New' section.

Music tracks don't play from 'New', 'Connect' and 'For You'. Apple playlists in these areas just skip through every track without playing.

I hope there is a solution soon!
