Apple music playback pause.(Signal Issue?)

Hi,

I have an issue with playback pausing when the iPhone signal service changes. Even with downloaded songs. I will start playing tunes saved on phone when out in my car and it will randomly pause. I reckon this has something to do with phone signal changing as it doesn't happen with airplane mode on.

These are downloaded songs so surely this shouldn't happen?

Any solutions?

Thanks,

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.2

This happens to me on the subway as well, but only for music I have made available offline through Apple Music. When I enter a station that allows my phone to have a data connection (WIFI or Cellular), playback pauses. This does not happen with music I have previously purchased. The work-around I have been doing, is turning off cellular data and WIFI all together while on the subway. When doing this, the only time my music stops is when I get above ground and I turn my cell data back on.

I hope this fix this soon.

Bad problem, still happening today (October 2) with latest iOS update and iPhone 6. My son has an iPhone 5s and has the same problem. The only thing we've found that solves it is to use airplane mode. That's not a good solution if you are on the road and want to be able to receive messages.

My music has paused about 20 times today in my office.

I've been seeing this issue intermittently ever since signing up for Apple Music when it became available in Canada but it wasn't happening enough to be bothersome. I just upgraded to an iPhone 7 and iOS 10.01 and Apple Music is pausing constantly when I'm walking around downtown and listening to music I've downloaded for offline use.

To make matters even worse when the music pauses it usually kills my earbud controls until I remove and re-connect the 3.5mm to lightning adapter. Therefore I can't simply click to resume, I have to take the iPhone out of my pocket and fiddle with it to get music to resume only to have it pause again seconds or minutes later.

Apple has acknowledged the second issue as a bug that will be addressed in a future software update. I really wish they'd change how Apple Music files are authenticated for listening to resolve the pausing issue. Right now I can barely listen to my music without constant interruptions. 😟

I am having the exact same issue, even with songs I've made available offline. I tried the suggestion above and I still have the problem. I called support and they told me to reboot the iPhone 5 and I still have the problem. It's a shame, because otherwise I love Apple Music and would absolutely continue on with it after the free trial, but if they don't fix this glitch it's a deal-breaker for me.

I have the same issue as well - I was going nuts trying to find a reason for it before coming across this topic.

I will be testing with cell data on for Apple Music for now, if that doesn't work I guess its Airplane mode for me while driving.

This needs to be fixed ASAP, its a ridiculous bug - unacceptable. If the music was streaming or in anyway DRM'd then I could maybe understand, but its not.

This really needs to be fixed. It's a ridiculous bug. I Have to turn my phone to flight mode every single day. Otherwise it pauses all the time during my commute. No one at Apple support seems to understand this problem and they just ask me to do the standard procedure: reset the phone.

I hope it gets fixed soon. It's annoying and it makes me wanna switch back to Spotify as soon as my trial period is over.

The solution to enable cellular use for the Music app does not fix the problem.

I'm a little surprised this problem isn't a bigger deal yet. I've called apple support a few times about this and they don't acknowledge of the bug's existence. I've actually had one rep tell me "You're listening to APPLE Music, not your own music" as if it was a valid explanation.

Same problem here. Extremely annoying. Here is what I have found in my situation. Over wifi, the music pauses randomly. This happens with my iPhone or on my Mac. Same exact thing, pauses randomly. When I run Pandora or Spotify, I have no issues at all. This, to me, tends to rule out a poor wifi connection.

When I turn OFF wifi and connect to cellular (Verizon), the music works perfectly. Why does Apple music work poorly over wifi when other services work fine?

I hope this gets fixed soon or my free trial will end and so will my subscription.

Well, I concluded too fast apparently! It did it again: curiously, it happens when I'm in the subway (where there is no cell signal) and when I arrive at the central station where a cell signal becomes available, that's where the music pauses; but when I get to the station where I go out, when the cell signal comes back, there is no interruption!!! I don't understand that at all!

Yep, same problem here. It actually happened to me on my way to the subway (coincidence?) as in I was still above ground and had a signal. What a miserable fail though. I thought spotify's iOS app was lacking and buggy, but this is worse. I won't get in to the atrocious interface of the iOS music app here. Really disappointed and annoyed with Apple, and this is coming from a long-time Apple products user.
