Why won't iTunes Match work in iTunes 12.2.1?

Ever since the new Apple Music started, iTunes Match isn't an option for my to turn on my iTunes for Windows 8. It's listed on the store menu but I don't have the option to click on it. I was struggling with this last night with my wife's computer and now my computer. I tried importing a CD for my wife last night but couldn't turn Match on so it wasn't showing up in her library. This is what it looks like when I try to use Match with Apple Music.

Try this...

My Music->Songs. Right click one of the sorting menus at the top of the page and select iCloud Status from the list of options. This will add the iCloud Status sorting menu. Now sort using this menu and you will see things like Purchased, Matched, Apple Music, Uploaded, Ineligible, Waiting, and so forth. Select all the songs with Waiting status. Now right click and you should see an option to upload those songs.

This worked for me.

Just tried this and it didn't work. I still cannot download any of my music from iTunes cloud! Internet connection is good so it's not that, nor is it wifi as i have also tried hardwiring straight to the router.

I don't even get iTunes Match on any of my menu's anymore. They have really dropped a clanger with this version, it's pants.

Man iMatch just suuuuccckkks. It is the most — wait… no, the most unreliable service on my mac is Back to My Mac. After that iMatch is almost as bad. Half the time my cloud songs are grey. Have to log out and back in to get them to show up. Now they are all black but I get this message on any song not local (see above).

Plus — iMatch is missing from the Account tab. If I log out it comes back on and asks if I want to subscribe. Log-in… it is gone.

*** Apple. Dropping some major balls in the music department lately. I think I am done after 20 years. I need something more reliable.

I'm having the same problem, just started today when nothing would play on my iPhone. I thought it was the phone but when I got home I found nothing would play on my iTunes and there was no iMatch options at all in the new iTunes.

In a way I'm glad there's other people with the same issue, and it's not just me; I hope that Apple will be fixing this asap.

I'm having the same problem posted by eviltimeban on 7/21/15 at 1:01 pm. I started having problems with my iPhone not playing my Match'd music, then noticed my MacBook Air wouldn't do it either. I've tried all the suggestions in this thread and nothing has solved the problem. I've gotten the "Can't connect to iTunes store, error -50" message a couple of times. Alternately, I sometimes just get a message saying "Can't connect to iTunes store at the moment." I have a working internet connection, so that's not the problem. This has only been a problem for the last day or two. I tried updating to iOS 8.4, thinking that would solve it, but it didn't.

Anyone know if this is on Apple's radar to fix any time soon???

Same here on 2 different MacBook Air (13 & 11), iMac, and iPhones 4 & 5s. I'm tired of iMatch, tired of Apple getting more and more complex, more and more opaque. It reminds me of my Windows days ... not a good memory, but we're there now. A few weeks ago, iTunes ruined my library on my iPhone (mixing albums and artists ... it was almost unmanageable), but it was ok on my MB Air. And now, I just can't access to my music ... wow that's improvement!

As we pay for iTunes Match, this is totally unacceptable.

Fortunately enough, I downloaded 75% of my iTunes library a few months ago. Now I'm going to manage my library manually with another app. iTunes, so long!

I am having the same problem as Mark when trying to download anything that is not local in my library.

If I remove a song locally and try to redownload, still errors out with that vague message, and there is an error 5556 (which I cannot find much about).

I have tried rebooting, logging out and back in, turning off match and back on thru preference, no luck.

My iTunes with match with iTunes was working perfectly, then I tried to enable Match on Apple TV. Apple TV match hung 15 days ago and is still trying to connect. The rest of Apple TV works fine and I can still stream movies and music from Computer. But I started getting iTunes errors on my Macs and am just now putting the events together. Maybe if one device is having iTunes Match trouble, the contagion spreads to other devices. I'm going to try unplugging the Apple TV and logging out of itunes on all devices then bringing the up one by one to see if that fixes it.

Seems to be fixed now. Working on iTunes and iPhone. Was on to Apple and they couldn't see any issue.

I purchased a song from iTunes Store, and normally when you'd have to choose "update iMatch" it just appeared on my iPhone automatically. I removed the download in iTunes and it just went to the iCloud, without me having to tell it to.

So perhaps there was a bug releasing this new version, but seems to be an improved way of doing it. I say this now of course, hopefully it won't drop again!

After speaking to Apple Support this afternoon they have told me that iTunes Match has been replaced by iCloud Music Library, pity they didn't make this clearer. They still cannot resolve why all of my music that was physically on my hard drive was whisked away to the cloud without my permission though. It means I now have to download it all next time I want to sync my iPod Classic as that cannot read music that's on the iCloud. All in all they have made a right balls up of this and I am now looking at viable alternatives to iTunes and my iPod.

Why won't iTunes Match work in iTunes 12.2.1?
