Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I suddenly am interrupted every five minutes by a popup that says on the window frame "join (name of wifi network here)".
In the window is the message
"<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Success</TITLE></HEAD><BODY>Success</BODY></HTML>"
What is wrong with my wifi network that I get this?
How can I make it go away?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), 512 Gb SSD, 16 Gb RAM,
In the bottom of the frame I can see this: apple.com/library/test/success.html
But where is the solution?
I'm getting the same message. On a mid-2012 Macbook pro, running OSX 10.9.5. Started for me just this morning (UK time) - I was using the Macbook late last night (around 8 hours ago) and all was fine. It does seem like malware or a virus.
Did u solve it?
I'm using an Airport base station... and I have an iMac 2012 model, seamed ok in my laptop MacBook Pro 2011 this morning Australia time...
I'm not on an Airport base station, but on a Thomson modem/router.
Having the same problem since I logged in this morning (about an hour and a half ago).
Same problem here with OSX 10.9.5 since this morning. I do not have an airport, just another brand of a wireless router. Apple does not seem to have deleted this file on their site, but maybe permissions or something else changed?
Since no one did any update and a lot of people are getting this now, I would suspect it to be a fault at Apple's end. Too bad we all have interference because of this... Very annoying this popup is coming back every 5 minutes.
I've encountered this today and rebooting made no difference. Is every five minutes and scan shows no malware. Surely this is a known problem. Is on iMac only. iPad fine.
Same thing on 2 Mac Book Pro's.
One in office with Air Port, one home with another Wifi/Router.
Pop up - Captive Network Assistant tries to connect ssl.apple.com
Think Apple has to fix that soon!
Rebooting only helps until you put the computer back to sleep.
Then it's back every five minutes.
Are they sleeping at Apple? This has been going on for hours and they must have noticed that this page doesn't respond as it should and messes up people's computers!
Same here in Barcelona, Spain. Last night everything working fine, this morning the popup sows up every 5 minutes and I lose connection. I'm on a 11-inch MacBook Air Mid 2013. No Airport Station, but a Linksys WRT-1900ac and on a 5Ghz network. Restarting and erasing internet locations didn't solve the issue...
I will try later on with a 13-inch Retina Macbook Pro and post results. This is really weird.
Started for me this morning too.... in Spain on an iMac 3.2GHz intel core i3 with 16GB 1333MHz DDR3 running 10.9.5
Getting on my nerves - and it's only been an hour or so....
Same problem just started this morning. Coincidently Mcafee on my mac last night reported a trojan which it had quarantined. I subsequently deleted it. I also updated Twitter yesterday on my iPhone. Apart from that nothing else has changed.
