iTunes Doesn't Recognize iPod (5th Gen Video 30Gig)

My iPod was working fine until I deleted songs that were all duplicated (using Anapod) and then discovered there weren't any songs left on my iPod.

I synced it back to iTunes and this messege popped out
"iTunes cannot read the contents of your iPod..etc etc" The gist of the message was that iTunes couldn't read my iPod and after I clicked the OK tab, the page sort of freezes and I can't click restore, so, its not possible for me to restore my iPod!

I've tried everything! Re-installing iTunes; disconnecting USB ports; resetting iPod nothing works.

AND

I have 15 video podcasts. in the Settings area, it says i have 15 but when I go to the menu section in the podcasts, i have 30! all duplicated!

so..

1. how do I restore my iPod
2. how do i get rid of the duplicates?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I recently tried to add some new songs to my Video iPod, but it says that iTunes cannot find my iPod. I ran the iPod diagnostics and this is what is said:

No IEEE 1394 Host Controller found.

I read that to solve this, you should download a later version or a newer version of iTunes, but this hasn't helped me. If anyone knows how I can solve my problem I would really appreciate it.

I tried to download the 6.05 version from the website you provided. But I got a message that said "you have a newer version if iTunes, so installation cannot continue".

What do I do? Do I uninstall iTuenes 7.3? If I do that, what happens to all the songs I've bought (or have moved) to the iTunes library?

I've never been able to get the iPod to work correctly, so don't have any playlists on it.

thanks for your help.

I have tried everything to get iTunes to recognize my Nano, but nothing works.

un-installed and re-installed the latest version.
Changed registry Key
Changed from drive J to Drive X
Re-installed drivers

Not sure what else to try. The computer finds the Nano right away, but just thinks it is a hard drive.

When I start iTunes it tells me I have to reinstall the software, which I have done many times.

Any help would be appreciated.

What the **** is going on??? I just sent my iPod off to get fixed, got it back today, and when i plugged it into my computer itunes doesn't recognise the **** thing! I have updated the latest i-tunes twice, and it still isn't registrating. I have tried all the USB sockets on my computer, and my cord does work (i've tried it on other ipods). There is power in the ipod, and the o-so-great "5 Rs" haven't worked. What do i do???

I have a similar problem. I opened up iTunes yesterday and the entire contents of my library were gone. They were still on the computer, but they didn't show up on iTunes. iTunes is now also telling me that my iPod is synced with another library. I did back up my library, but have added stuff since. If I try to sync my iPod now, half the stuff on it will go missing. Help!

I have two iPods and I use one iTunes for them.
One iPod is working normal and my computer recognizes it, but there're some troubles with the 2nd one. One day I found it empty. So I pluged it in. But iTunes didn't recognize it at all! I tried pushing the center button and "menu". It didn't work. My USB port is OK, because it's OK with the first iPod.
SO HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!
What should I do to make it work again????
