iTunes Doesn't Recognize iPod (5th Gen Video 30Gig)

My iPod was working fine until I deleted songs that were all duplicated (using Anapod) and then discovered there weren't any songs left on my iPod.

I synced it back to iTunes and this messege popped out
"iTunes cannot read the contents of your iPod..etc etc" The gist of the message was that iTunes couldn't read my iPod and after I clicked the OK tab, the page sort of freezes and I can't click restore, so, its not possible for me to restore my iPod!

I've tried everything! Re-installing iTunes; disconnecting USB ports; resetting iPod nothing works.

AND

I have 15 video podcasts. in the Settings area, it says i have 15 but when I go to the menu section in the podcasts, i have 30! all duplicated!

so..

1. how do I restore my iPod
2. how do i get rid of the duplicates?

I have same problem with 20GB ipod. Yet it works OK when i connect it to my other PC with ITUNES ver 6. Also note, that under add/remove programs there is no IPOD Updater program listed anymore. With ITUNES ver 7.x.x, the IPOD hangs Windows without ever loading ITUNES. Clearly a device driver problem. Sporatically I can get it to recognize and start to reload. Very slowly. I fills 4GB with 10 songs and then hangs. Again, Windows does not see this disk properly. You should be about to view the device in MY COMPUTER. It's there but you can't open it.

My Ipod was also working fine until I downloaded the latest version of ITunes
7.4
Next thing I know I got a message that my IPod was corrupt and should reset it.
I did that and now Itunes will not recognize my Ipod.
I'm not sure what version I have but the box it came in says,
iPod+hp
30GB
Digital music player +photos

I have tried everything,,, resetting it re downloading 7.4 .... tried different USB ports on my PC
And ITunes still will not recognize my iPod
I'm at my wits end

Any help at all will be greatly appreciated

Hey! I'd had a problem with my second generation nano (2gig) where I would plug it into my toshiba laptop the computer wasn't recognizing it, even though my ipod thought it was charging. I plugged it into my other computer and the same thing happened. I figured it was the cord so i searched for 2 weeks and spent $30.00 on a cord and when I got home to plug it in, the same thing happened so I looked at th 5 r's and thay weren't really any help the I fixed my problem!

I reset my ipod and plugged it into my laptop and it worked. it's not that hard.

Since updating to iTunes 7.5, my 60 gig iPod Photo (Color Screen) is no longer recognized by my iMac running OS 10.4.10. I connect via Firewire.
It IS recognized on my portable running an earlier version of iTunes. However, I also use my iPod Photo as my default backup location. SInce this "upgrade", I can't back things up.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Yesterday I was downloading music and putting playlists on my ipod, but today the ipod wasn't being recognized. I uninstalled my itunes 7.5 and installed an earlier version. I did lots of other things that I read on this list, to no avail. Then I did the most elementary thing of all...I pushed the ipod connection harder into the ipod and I moved it around a little, twisting it a tad bit, and VOILA...it was recognized! No freakin' idea what is going on, but it worked. Maybe try that!!!!
