iTunes with Windows 10 install error

I'm trying to install iTunes 12.2.1 64bit on a new Windows 10 installation and I'm getting the following error:

An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195",publickKeyToken="1fc8 b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80073715

Any ideas?

Hey there.. After lots of updating, searching, reading for a few days I decided to tinker around my computer and figure out where everything was being downloaded with the new system. I was on windows 7 still a 64bit and so it turns out 2 things were wrong. my norton was blocking a lot of stuff with it's SMART FIREWALL GRRRR and Itunes somehow got installed in the wrong folder (program 86x). Everything showed up including my phone just nothing could be accessed. I basically just uninstalled and reinstalled in the drive c program folder and made sure all the drivers cleaned (when you unplug and replug in they just add on)up and updated and downloaded right, that bonjour was running (that was the issue with the update for the last windows 7 grr along with a missing snap in)... and everything else with itunes and after i ignored the firewall and restarted notebook. I got my itunes back up and running my home group and network and EVERYTHING connected including my tablet and phone!! YAY.. so in case no one has checked to see where theirs has downloaded may want to. just make sure your compatibility box in unchecked for all itunes and bonjour service not sure if this will help anyone, but since mine is up and running and i didn't tweak anything, didn't add anything, didn't take anything away.. hopefully it will! :) GL!

This is how I was able to install and start using iTunes 12.3 using windows 10: Go into Start Menu, select settings, click on System (display, notifications, apps, power), click on About, scroll down on the right hand screen and click on Additional administrative tools. This will open a new window, click on System configuration, another window will open, click Enable all, then click Apply. Restart your computer and install iTunes. It should work, if not I will look into it further. I have had the same problem for weeks and finally got iTunes to install and update. Essentially, Windows 10 needs to be reconfigured to accept iTunes and the apple programs to install and use it. By enabling the programs it tells Windows it is okay to install and use the apple products. This has just been my experience though.

I was having the same problem for weeks. Finally someone mentioned that I may solve the issue by manually installing the "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" from Microsoft and then installing iTunes afterward. This worked...

The steps where:

- Un-install ALL traces of iTunes first

- Download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

- Download and install a fresh copy of iTunes.

Good luck to anyone still having this issue.
