Podcast app crashing in iOS 9

I just installed iOS 9 on my iPhone 6. When opening the podcast app I get a white screen, "Updating Library" and then it crashes after about 15 seconds. Anyone else experiencing this?

I've quit the app.

Restarted the phone.

Tried putting phone in airplane mode and opening the app.

Same result each time.

Help!

I just did the full erase of Iphone . Tried the podcasts app and it worked. then did a restore from backup on mac. Podcast app crashed again.

This time i will try the same thing but will do a restore from iCloud.

I am hoping the cloud backup will not install whatever is interfering with the podcasts app.

The number of subscribed podcasts cannot be the issue . If it was the issue then the podcasts app would not work after doing an erase of all content and settings

Same issue on my iPhone 6

I have spent many hours on the phone with 2 levels off Apple techs so far.

They tried many things like restoring the phone.

No changes so far.

There was an update IOS9 last night.

That did not solve it.

I reset the whole phone right after that.

Still not solving.

My iPad Air 2 podcast app works fine though.

One fix so far is to use the old iPod Classic and listen to the podcasts the old fashion way.

Add me to the list of unhappy podcast listeners. I just upgraded my 5S to iOS 9.0.1 and the Podcasts app crashes when it does the library update. As a podcaster, this is extremely frustrating since nearly half of my downloads come from the app. No wonder my stats tanked this week!

Resetting my phone is not an option. I'll use Overcast until Apple fixes this.

"Apple has lost huge credibility and it is shocking that they won't own up to this problem and give at least an ETA for a fix."
Not really shocking to me as they refused to acknowledge the graphic card failures on the 2011 Macbook Pro for three years or so until the flood of complaints, petitions, and websites devoted to complaining about the malfunction built up enough momentum to get talked about in multiple news stories. Then they finally caved and fixed these computers. Mine was sitting unused for a year because it would not boot due to this. Now I have a computer again, but it took them three years to acknowledge what was going on and fix it.
