same here App Crashing on "Updating Library".

I Tested on an iPhone 4s.

Ditto. iOS 9 installed yesterday, 9/16, on iPhone 6. Reboot no help. Opens for a few seconds, spinning wheel, "updating library," then force closes. Lovely Apple, fix it please. Fast.

I am wondering how many podcasts people were subscribed to - as many I talk to do not have this issue.

I was subscribed to over 50 and I am having this issue.

For others having this issue, do you know how many podcasts roughly you were subscribed to prior to the update?

I'm wondering that same thing, Rob. I was subscribed to a lot of podcasts before I upgraded.

Oddly, my iPad 3 was subscribed to the same podcasts (only not downloading them), but it worked fine after updating to iOS 9. Only my iPhone 5 didn't.

Hi everyone- I am using my iPod and the iOS 9 update just crashes my podcast app- says the library is updating but even after a hard reset, soft reset, backup, etc. I still get the crash...anyone else using an iPod with an answer? Thanks!

@jplang56, that's the same thing I found, too. A complete reset without restoring from backup worked. But I'd rather find a new podcasts app than reconfigure all of my apps and settings.

Thanks for bringing this up, I've got the same exact problem. Really crappy that you had to restore your phone to fix it! Apple, get this sorted out!

I have the same problem on my iPhone 5 but not on my iPad (4th gen). It actually causes a hard crash for me -- a full reboot of iOS. I'm guessing there's a memory bug with that app since it was updated with iOS 9. I just set up my iPhone and don't want to do a full restore again. Does anyone know of a good alternative app for listening to podcasts?
