Ios 9 cant enable mobile data for application(s)?

I was traveling while upgrading my device, and most seem to work as expected so far.

Since I'm careful with roaming charges, I disabled most of the apps from the mobile data setting page before I left, so I could read mail abroad without using alot of data in the background.

After upgrading to IOS 9, I can't seem to enable mobile data for any new apps.

The ones that were already enabled, is fine.. they can be disabled and then enabled again, but for example spotify refuses to use mobile data after the update,

I've restarted, soft reset, and every time the mobile data checkbutton is back to off if I go out of settings and in again (and it doesn't work).

Anyone else have this problem?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9, IOS 9, mobile data settings

I'm having exactly the same issue. Any apps that were switched off for mobile data use before the IOS 9 update will not now switch back on. I've reset network settings to no avail. Deleting the apps and reinstalling them doesn't seem to work either. I thought about using one of my recent backups to iCloud but oddly since the IOS update I no longer have any phone backups despite me previously backing up pretty regularly!

hi, I was stuck with the same issue in a critical situation where I need to use an app but was unable to turn on cellular data to that app. But I fixed it by erasing my iPhone and restoring the backup. Here the backup file I used to restore was the file I backed up before updating to iOS 9 from 8.4 and it worked. I tried various methods but observed some different and unseen error messages popping up which I saw for the first time since I'm using iPhone a very long back. Anyways it was to awkward by the apple guys releasing the updates which has many bugs as the updates are supposed to fix the bugs. I seriously don't like this update, It *****.......

same problem here. its been how many days since this problem was reported to apple and until now no CONCRETE solution was given. very frustrating.. I switch to apple a months ago for their good technical support and good service and I am disappointed with the outcome of their newly release ios version. My phone is useless when no WIFI.

I was trouble when in emergency i couldnt use mobile data for my apps.

Such branded company with talented programmers how landed basic functionality in trouble?

Its not only about piece of code update, its about blocking customers from basic functionalities for such costly phone and heavy software upgrades

Same problem here. I talked to support this morning. They told me that they are well aware of the issue and that it has been pushed to the programmers attentions. When asked if we are talking days, weeks, months for the fix he said he thinks we are talking days. It seems like they don't really know much more, but apparently there has been a second beta 9.1 pushed on Wednesday.

My situation is slightly different than what I've seen from most posts, I have only suffered this issue since my upgrade to IOS 9.0.1 earlier today.

I believe my last backup was prior to IOS 9 upgrade.

Is it possible to just restore my backup to rectify the issue or is a downgrade followed by a restore required?

Thanks
