Ios 9 cant enable mobile data for application(s)?

I was traveling while upgrading my device, and most seem to work as expected so far.

Since I'm careful with roaming charges, I disabled most of the apps from the mobile data setting page before I left, so I could read mail abroad without using alot of data in the background.

After upgrading to IOS 9, I can't seem to enable mobile data for any new apps.

The ones that were already enabled, is fine.. they can be disabled and then enabled again, but for example spotify refuses to use mobile data after the update,

I've restarted, soft reset, and every time the mobile data checkbutton is back to off if I go out of settings and in again (and it doesn't work).

Anyone else have this problem?

I'm having exactly the same issue. Any apps that were switched off for mobile data use before the IOS 9 update will not now switch back on. I've reset network settings to no avail. Deleting the apps and reinstalling them doesn't seem to work either. I thought about using one of my recent backups to iCloud but oddly since the IOS update I no longer have any phone backups despite me previously backing up pretty regularly!

Am in the same boat. This wonderful update has bricked my iPhone 6+

I travel overseas quite a bit. When there, I turn off cellular data to the apps I do not need. This feature helps cut down on data consumption, which is the purpose for which it was designed.

I updated to iOS 9 and just recently iOS 9.0.1 (hoping for a fix). My iPhone will not allow me to select apps for cell data. As my daughter has just pointed out, I now have a giant iPod that just happens to be able to make phone calls. This destroys the point of having a smart phone. I can only use the full capability of the phone in a wifi environment.

I have tried all suggested fixes, to no avail. In over thirty years of using apple products, this is the first time that I am truly regretting not having an android phone.

Unbelievable...

I had the same issue, but I was finally able to fix it!!

I went to the genius bar yesterday to get help. We restored the phone to brand new, downloaded some apps and data worked like a charm.

The moment i restored it from backup, it wasn't working again.

So i saved my pics to the cloud (the only information on this phone I'm attached too) and restored to brand new. I only get my pics form the cloud, didn't do the full backup. Re-downloaded all apps and data seems to be working fine.

Maybe that'll help some of you too! Still an awfully nasty bug!

II've lost track of how many hours I've in spent talking to Apple about this and how many different things they've had me do to fix this. Nothing has worked. Four days ago I did an online chat with an Apple tech and she told me SHE was having the same problem. She also told me that Apple was aware of the problem and was working on an update to fix it. She couldn't give me an idea when.

I am a Brit and my issue was the same as all the rest. I spent two days restoring etc etc, talking to Apple support to no avail. It was solved in seconds by my cell phone company (O2). The guy in the store just went into the mobile data settings and changed on thing and hey presto... problem solved. I don't know if this will work for everyone, but got to be worth a try guys.
