Ios 9 cant enable mobile data for application(s)?

I was traveling while upgrading my device, and most seem to work as expected so far.

Since I'm careful with roaming charges, I disabled most of the apps from the mobile data setting page before I left, so I could read mail abroad without using alot of data in the background.

After upgrading to IOS 9, I can't seem to enable mobile data for any new apps.

The ones that were already enabled, is fine.. they can be disabled and then enabled again, but for example spotify refuses to use mobile data after the update,

I've restarted, soft reset, and every time the mobile data checkbutton is back to off if I go out of settings and in again (and it doesn't work).

Anyone else have this problem?

I'm having exactly the same issue. Any apps that were switched off for mobile data use before the IOS 9 update will not now switch back on. I've reset network settings to no avail. Deleting the apps and reinstalling them doesn't seem to work either. I thought about using one of my recent backups to iCloud but oddly since the IOS update I no longer have any phone backups despite me previously backing up pretty regularly!

I just called Apple Support, 3 times! The first time around I was being transferred I believe to a higher tier to help me with my issue but while being transferred my phone call "disconnected". I called again and believe I was actually hung up on because the line again "disconnected". I am calling from my work phone, funny, I speak to customers all day and the line never disconnects. If Apple is having phone issues they should probably address those! The last time I was told that Apple does not support third party applications. The issue is not with my application, it is with the PHONE!!!!!!!!! I cannot connect my cellular data for applications I use daily both for recreational and for professional purposes. The solution was to reach out to the app developers or to wipe my phone and start anew! So I am stuck waiting for an update to what we all know is the issue, the IOS 9 update that screwed our cellular data connections! Incredibly disappointed with the outcome of my call, no solution. The most upsetting part is that I was told they weren't aware of any issue with the update!!!!!

I hope an update with a fix comes out soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same issue with me. I called Apple Support 3 times this morning. Went so far as to have me do a restore. How didn't the Apple techs not know about this before wasting 50 minutes of my time and making me restore my phone?? Looks like this has been discussed on this forum for 4 days?? Apple - please fix ASAP. Bugs like this are the reason why people should have the option to roll back OS's. My phone is useless until this is fixed. Much longer I should be able to send my cell phone bill to Apple since I cant use the data im paying for!!!

I'm having the exact same issues. I realized yesterday how my data wasn't working when I was out with my best friend. Since I have wifi I don't use my data at home and my job has wifi as well. My data only worked for snapchat and that's Only because SC was already enabled before the update. Now all of my apps that weren't enabled before the update will not use my data. Apple you guys really need to fix this pronto. All this money I spend with you, there shouldn't be anything wrong with my phone!!!

Same problem. I can turn cellular on for all apps that had NOT been "on" before I updated to iOS 9; but as soon as I leave the settings page, the phone turns them "off" again. Rebooting didn't help. Apple needs to fix with an update to iOS 9. How quickly they come up with the fix is going to affect how people perceive the brand. Is anybody listening at Apple? Are they working on the problem? Do they know there's a problem? Waiting for a sign. 😕

Updated my iPhone 5s to ios9 last week and have had to struggle with this mobile data bug! Like someone said previously in this forum, I switched off my mobile data for all apps because I use WIFI most of the time but updating my iPhone obviously has now made me end up having no access to apps whatsoever! It's not a major problem but for someone who commutes a lot I consider it to be quite annoying 😟

Hoping Apple fix this pronto, I can imagine it taking a few more weeks but gosh please let it be quicker than that!

As of this morning, they put me on hold for about 5-8 minutes and then came back and told me they didn't have anything that showed there was this issue with the iOS9 update, but yet, I found plenty of complaints with the same issue dating back a few days. Sadly, I don't think anyone at Apple is listening which is really hurting their brand. Apple, please fix this ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got off the phone with Apple tech support. The woman said that this update is a chaotic mess. We tried resetting all settings, which didn't work and she was trying to find other ways to help, none of which worked. My plan is to downgrade to iOS 8 tonight and wait until the next update to iOS 9 comes out.

Anyone have a good link with downgrading instructions?

OMG, I'm having the same problem after upgraded my iPhone 6 plus to iOS 9. I've tried everything from replacing new SIM card with AT&T to reset all settings, soft reset and full restoring backup. Darn wasting so much of my time but nothing had worked!!!! It's a big bug inside iOS 9. Was on the phone with people at Genius Bar to help me, but they don't even know about any bug in this iOS 9. The tech guy walked me thru the restore from backup process but oh my was that wasting 1 freaking hour of my time for nothing.

Any one has any workaround pleaseeeee post. I need my mobile data to work since I will be our of town and not every public corner has wifi. Should I wipe clean my phone and not restore anything from backup and use the phone as "new phone" until Apple bee comes out the next fix for this iOS?? Any thoughts on this, please kindly reply.

According to several users, Apple supoort center is not aware of the problem or at least not yet confimed the existence of the bug. My suggestions is to create a hastag on twitter to report the bug and make sure that Apple understands the huge problem that we are facing! If the hastag turns hot topic, apple will have to do something. What do you think?

Ios 9 cant enable mobile data for application(s)?
