Ios 9 cant enable mobile data for application(s)?

I was traveling while upgrading my device, and most seem to work as expected so far.

Since I'm careful with roaming charges, I disabled most of the apps from the mobile data setting page before I left, so I could read mail abroad without using alot of data in the background.

After upgrading to IOS 9, I can't seem to enable mobile data for any new apps.

The ones that were already enabled, is fine.. they can be disabled and then enabled again, but for example spotify refuses to use mobile data after the update,

I've restarted, soft reset, and every time the mobile data checkbutton is back to off if I go out of settings and in again (and it doesn't work).

Anyone else have this problem?

Why won't an Apple support rep just acknowledge the issue and let us know they are working on it? That would give a lot of people piece of mind. Instead all of their support people just keep up the ruse and act like there's nothing wrong. Admit the bug exists and give us hope!

Having the same problem...few of the apps which were on before the update , thier data settings can be toggled but not for theose whihc mobile data was off at the time of iOS update. Some ****** work from apple. Its like for rest of the apps the data settings have frozen and can never beturned off.

Have tried switching off/on, airplane mode, resetting all data nothing has worked.

Hope apple bring a fast update to clear this bug.

I had the same problem. Solved it last night.

Steps:

Downgrade to 8.4.1
Restore from backup (I had an 8.4.1 backup lying around. I don’t know if you can restore from a 9.0 backup so YMMV)
Once all apps have installed following the restore, enable mobile data for all of them
Upgrade to iOS 9.0 OTA

BOOM. Done.

You can now turn off and on mobile data for all apps.

Only downside is that if you’re restoring from an 8.4.1 backup, you’ll lose anything you’ve accumulated that wasn’t backed up since the 9.0 original upgrade. I lost a few days of messages. I can live with that.

Today Apple Support called me. I called them four days ago with the issue. They told me that they are working to fix it on 9.1.

My phone is already fix, recovery of ios 9, and configure as new iphone, big work to install all apps again and configure everything but i need that my apps use Data.

If you haver your contacts sync with icloud, pictures and whatsapp they will sync once you use your icloud account , problem is with the docs in third part apps. And the need to configure again the email and all the settings.

Put me on the list. So I have a iPhone without internet connectivity. That's kind of comedy.

( Beside Siri is not finding any of my address book contacts)

Also tweeted to Tim Cook (I know, he won't notice, but worth a try...)

Downgrading is the only option - yet, it is not the BEST way to do things. I have come up with a fix that I need to confirm.

Will report back if I find anything substantial. 🙂

Yes, I have a problem with not being able to use my apps with cellular data. I've tried all the tips with resetting, rebooting, turning cellular data on and off and putting it in airplane mode but nothing works.

I cannot confirm this as my devices are working fine.

Anyone can try and confirm?

Here's the fix: Settings -> General -> Restrictions -> Enter passcode -> Cellular / Mobile Data will appear... tap on it and select "Allow Changes"

Please let me know if it works (or not).

Having the same problem! Having to use my phone as a Wi-Fi tether and use apps on my iPad as a workaround. Apple, hello???? Anybody home? Get ahead of this with a press release ASAP.

Going to Restrictions, and turning it on and then off, does not help. (Restrictions had not been on on my 4s.)

MY face book app is also not working .. Either i am using via wifi or cellular data... Please fix problem... Whenever i go to out side I couldn't use google chrome via cellular data .. Because when i upgrade iOS 9 only social networks were opened in setting..,
