Help! iOS 9 - No Service on iPhone 5

I tried a sim card that was for sure working in another phone at Verizon and it didn't help. 😟

I just went today and had my Verizon phone (under warranty) replaced with another 5s and have had no issues on 8.4.

I'm just not going to upgrade, I think iOS 9 does something irreparable to some models since 6 owners seem to be unaffected by it.

Having same problem with no service after updating with iOS 9. Just tried turning my iPhone 5 onto airplane mode for 30 seconds and then off again and service returned. Hope it lasts!

After struggling for almost 24 hours I was finally able to upgrade to iOS 9.0.1.

Cell coverage was returned, but only for about 30 minutes. No the problem has returned and my iPhone 5S is a unusable as it was after upgrading to 9.0.

I Am having the same problem and I have lost about 15 hours of my life reading, downloading, resetting etc. Can't phone out, can't text and am buying a Samsung phone first thing tomorrow.

Yep, same here, i have a Iphone 5, took it to US Cellular for two days,,, and no fix, I talked to an Apple store... no fix... Ive talked to Apple.com for support,,,,no fix... Thanks Apple for my new IPOD,,, (My phone is now just a Ipod....an expensive one too....THANKS)

I Had the no service issue as well starting in the morning didn't have problems with the iOS 9 for awhile till yesterday morning I lost service in and out and no service icone would show up I did the iOS 9.0.1. Update and still didn't help. I to searched for hours on how to fix this . To switched the phone off , airplane mode, and even went into settings -general-rest- network rest and let that take place ( it erases your wifi passwords if you do so and resets all network connections) still nothing worked . I went to apples site and they emails me a dionogstic link and I ran that and it sent to them when done , not sure if that helped etheir . About 6 hours later my phone regained service and hasn't acted up sense . So not sure if it just takes time for the update to work or resetting my network helped but hopefully everything works out for others having problems .

Apparently, installing iOS 9.0.1 upgrade helped some people to resolve their "no service" issue, but not others. I still get no service with T-Mobile on my upgraded iPad 4. I went to AT&T tried their simcard, but it did not hep. As I mentioned earlier, downgrading to ios 8.4.1 does not help either. Everything was working before I upgraded my iPad 4 to ios 9.0. There is now another thread on this forum that states that ios 9.0.1 still does not resolve the "no service" issue.

I have experienced exactly the same. Tried 8.4.1, 9.0 and 9.0.1. Same issue with "No service" and "Searching..". Restoring is a hellish experience now, where I have to try a couple of hundred times before getting past the countless "unknown" error codes like -1, 50 et.c.

I have also bought a new sim card, to no use.

At the moment I believe that my only option is to demand a new iPhone 5S from my Apple store.

I went to my local apple store and got a replacement. The guy I dealt with had seen a couple of these issues today.

I Have the same problem I downloaded iOS 9 and it was fine for about 8 hours the no service poped up and i been like that for days idk how Apple managed to screw up phones completely and how they didn't see this going thru testing like ***

Upgraded to IOS 9, bricked my iPhone 5c. not happy

I was having this problem too, even after installing 9.01. I compared all the settings on my phone with another phone that upgraded fine (same model, iphone 5 first generation). In my settings, I had a "Profile" menu with outdated t-mobile certificates. I tried installing the new app from the App store, still didn't work. I deleted the Profile, restarted the phone, and it's working like a charm. Hopefully this fix will work for other people having the problem. Good luck!

Same issue here (iphone 5s). It's weird as it started only a few days after upgrading to 9.0.1, but since then nothing has seemed to help, at least not permanently, after restoring the phone it regains service for about half an hour but then it starts searching/no service again. I don't think it screws up anything in the hardware actually, otherwise you wouldn't get the service back temporarily after backup/restore. It seems to be more like a strange bug, which hopefully gets fixed very soon.

I'm wondering if they replace phones with expired guarantee as well. If this issue has something to do with the hardware in conjuction with the upgrade to ios 9, then it's clearly Apple's fault so they should replace all devices affected with this problem.
