iTunes 12.3 doesn't recognize proxy settings
An older version has no problems. Everything works fine. Since I installed iTunes 12.3.0.44 today it can't connect to the iTunes store.

Same problem here at work...
You should report it as an issue to Apple.
Did that today, no feedback so far... As most of the time!
Has anyone had any luck talking to any one from Apple?. We use a proxy server in our organisation, also can confirm when running a packet capture that 12.3 version of iTunes is trying to go direct to the internet and is getting blocked..
Ran the same packet capture on ver 12.2 and its fine??, sees the proxy and authenticates
Why would they change that and release it..? Lot of companies, government agencies would use proxy settings firewalls for extra security, so bit of dumb one from apple..
Apple and Proxy Support... Sad story! Bin there, done that 😟
Did some more tests: If I change the Internet Settings within IE away from "Automatically detect settings" and provide a dedicated Proxy. Works like it should!
Problem: Distributed environment with different proxy in each location... Traveling users (hopping from location to location) and that our GPO changes it back after 90 minutes.
Sorry no better news 😟
unfortunately your solution doesn't work also in one other situation: as I said before, we in our company don't have the "Automatic setting" but we have a configuration script.
iTunes 12.3 fails to manage this.
Your config script is probably pointing to a load-balancer, and not to a specific proxy server. We do the same thing at my company. Once I disabled the script and pointed my machine directly to a server it's working normally.
I understand this isn't a scalable "fix" but it may get you up and running until Apple can fix the issue as a whole.
has everybody reported this as a bug ?
if we don't report this apple will not fix this.
so please go to https://bugreport.apple.com/ an report that too.
Avrakk,
the script points to a named address in the domain, I don't know whether it is a load balancer or not. However, the scripts also does something else, so I cannot disable it, not even temporarily.
And, I am not authorised to post a bug. So... I have no option but to wait - and to bump the thread once in a while ;p.
Thanks, anyway
Apple reponded:
Engineering has provided the following feedback regarding this issue:
Please verify this issue with the latest iTunes 12.3.
Please visit <http://www.apple.com/itunes/download>, manually download iTunes 12.3 installer and run it. (It will install over the previous version of iTunes 12.3 without any uninstall.)
And guess what: It works!
In the latest iTunes 12.3.0.44 (Downloaded Saturday), the Apple Application Support is updated from 4.0.2 to 4.0.3!
That did the Magic and iTunes is now able to use the Proxy again.
Everyone with the problem should take a closer look at the Apple Application Support Package :-)
Caused a lot of headache for me... and I still wonder why the Apple Application Support Package is related to the iTunes base package Proxy usage!
Cheers and good luck!
It works ! Thanks !
I downloaded iTunes for Windows, and the Apple Application Support versionis still 4.0.2.
I have enabled Auto Proxy Discovery in Network>Advanced>Proxies ad it worked.

I also received the same response from Apple and downloaded iTunes6464.exe. When I double click I receive two options, either remove or repair. Since I didn't want to remove, I clicked on Repair. Unfortunately it didn't solve my problem.
Where can I find the version of Apple Application Support?
thank you nymphe1410!
now it is working fine!
I just have a small question: how I can find the version of each component (like AAS) ?
Bye
Filippo
