Issues with "Groups" in Contacts after iOS 9 upgrade

User uploaded file

Hello,

I am having two issues.

1. My groups in contacts are no longer in alphabetical order after upgrading to ios9. I have tried removing them via the iTunes sync and then adding them again and all it did was resort them in another random order - not alphabetical. Has anyone else had this issue? Do you have a fix?

2. Contacts used to remember which Group I had selected for viewing. Now, after ios9 upgrade, each time I go into contacts via direct or by "Phone", ALL my Groups are checked instead of the 1 group I had chosen, so ALL my contacts appear.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I downgraded to iOS 8.4.1 due to this issue. Same on iPad, too.

I have been using Contact Groups since the first iPhone came out. I have a lot of groups. I have groups for companies, sport teams, campgrounds, cities and states. The fact that ios 9 Contact groups are not sorting is a major problem.

I've also noticed that if a business name like Wing Stop is within my contacts, Siri will not always use my Contact Wing Stop information. Siri goes out to the Internet for the answer. This makes hands free dialing by Siri a bit like rolling dice on a freeway. It seems like a simple if statement when you ask Siri to call a name to first check the iPhone Contacts before going out the Internet every time. Apple really needed to spend some of the billions of dollars in off shore accounts on more Quality Assurance staff.

I keep seeing Apple applications getting the short end of the stick, compared to new hardware. One of the reasons I've owned Apple products since the 80's was the close relationship between software and hardware.

Please Fix this ASAP ..... Thanks, Larry

I Have a really good friend who is a top Apple teacher/trainer in northern mi, we jocall the time about "if you want to screw up a good Application, give it to Apple." It seems they have a bunch of quality control people there who really don't give a **** about the functionality of the applications they support. Don't get me wrong, the split screen on my iPad air is really cool, though it should've been done the day that iPad was released. (Just saying)

Same problem. I have about a dozen groups in my Contacts list. I had been able to move them around in any order that I wished in iOS 8. Now they appear in the order that they were created and I can't change it. There is a technical term for such a disappointing feature: it su¢ks! Hopefully, Apple will restore the ability to put groups into whatever order the user may wish.

Just saw the update to iOS 9.01 posted - and even though nothing was said in the "read me" about fixing Contacts, I was hopeful... updated my iPad just now - no luck.

Groups still listed out of order.

Others on different forums are saying we may have to wait until November for larger iOS 9.1 release. I hope not!
