iTunes 12.3 issue with iPod Touch

Since upgrading to iTunes 12.3 yesterday i have been unable to connect my 1st generation iPod touch to Itunes. Shortly before upgrading to 12.3 i had added new podcasts without issue using iTunes 12.2 and did not received any communication errors whatsoever, but as a soon as the upgrade to 12.3 was complete the ipod touch would not connect and gave me the error

iTunes could not connect to the iPod touch “Ipod” because an invalid response was received from the device.

Is this perhaps an issue with 12.3 and can i simply revert back to itunes 12.2 to regain my itunes functionality?

Where is "Restore" located in itunes? I'm having difficulty locating it for some reason.

I'm on a PC.

Your IPod needs to be on "recovery mode". Then as you plug it into itunes, it should show up as "Itunes has discovered a device in recovery mode'. The option to restore should show up after that.

For windows users, If you just uninstall all the apple programs (including bonjour and itunes) and then reinstall itunes, all will be well. It took about 4 minutes.

plz i have the same problem , i do not have a mac book , so i do not have an option key in my keyboard , so what can i do ?
