Looking good thus far! Subsequent to updating to 9.2 on my iPhone, I downloaded emails with attachments into my inbox, I've created emails with attachments which are now in my sent folder, and I have deleted emails with attachments which are now in my rubbish/trash folder. All are fully intact. Prior to my having updated to 9.2, I would have lost some content by now.

POst installation of iOS 9.2 - and extensive testing with IMAP last night and this morning - the problem doesn't appear to be fully resolved.

Whilst off-line from an active network connection, some embedded images within email messages are still not persistent - and must be reloaded when the network connection is restored.

HOwever, whilst off-line from an active network connection, initial testing suggests that document attachments do appear to be persistent and available.

Seems that maybe some Mail issues are resolved.

;-) I don’t use Siri, but if I did I imagine this is how my conversation would go...

“Hey Siri, good morning What’s up with my iPad?”

“Why?”

“What time is it?”

“Sorry, can’t answer that - we are in DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME TRANSITION”

“So how come my alarm didn’t go off this morning?”

“Sorry, can’t answer that - but IOS was updated overnight”

“Oh, How’s my heart rate this morning?”

“Sorry, can’t answer that - no data in HEALTH”

“What appointments do I have this week?”

“Sorry, can’t answer that - CALENDAR will not display seven days in a week”

“OK, can you call the office and find out please?”

“Sorry, can’t do that - search in CONTACTS displays no results”

“OK, so I must have some notifications from WALLET and LOCK SCREEN”

“Sorry - no”

“OK, so where’s my iPhone, that’ll tell me”

“Sorry - can’t log in to FIND MY IPHONE”

“OK, don’t worry I found it. Hey where’s my ICLOUD backup?”

“Sorry - known issue, waiting for next software release”

“OK, don’t worry”

“Sorry - I don’t understand that question”

“Where have all my LIVE PHOTOS gone?”

“Sorry - ICLOUD backup was incomplete so restored from previous backup, it turns off LIVE PHOTOS”

“OK, don’t worry. Let’s take a ‘good morning’ video to send to my beloved”

“Sorry - CAMERA app on iPad may mean you have a black screen”

“OK, don’t worry I’ll send a MAIL instead”

“Sorry - probably best to avoid the MAIL app for a variety of reasons”

“OK, don’t worry I’ll write a letter instead and print it”

“Sorry - at least 4 issues with KEYBOARD responsiveness and operation”

“OK, don’t worry I’ll dictate a voice message instead”

“Sorry - ACCESSIBILITY seems to have a few problems”

“OK, don’t worry. Let’s take a break. What’s going on in the world today? Bring up Safari”

“Sorry - SAFARI stability not very good”

“OK, don’t worry I’ll listen to my podcast”

“Sorry - PODCASTS stability not very good”

“OK, listen. The day hasn’t got off to a very good start has it?”

“Sorry”

“OK, don’t worry. What does work?”

“Ah, the NEWS app is great it allows you to stay up to date with the most important news of the day”

“OK, that sound great. Fire it up, what’s it got to say?”

“One moment please. You installed IOS9 so basically you have problems. But wait, there’s good news!”

“OK, whats that?”

“Your other Tech company shares show significant increase”

“OK, that is good news”

“Sorry, wait there is more news…. IOS 9.2 is released”

I sent several emails yesterday with imbedded photos From my iPhone 6.

I tried to review those messages today.

I was confronted with the "This message has not been downloaded from the server." message.

NO CONTENT of my sent messages was present.

I use POP/STMP email servers.

I will not use "the cloud" to store my email content.

I googled to find this thread.

I downloaded and installed 9.2

I checked to see if I could review the content of the emails I sent yesterday.

Placeholders are still there. Content is still absent.

Dec 9, 2015 8:36 AM in response to W.E.G.

I just sent a test message to myself with an embedded image.

I am able to view that message in its entirety in my sent messages.

However, I was able to view all content of yesterday's messages yesterday - but content was gone when I tried to view those same messages today.

We shall see how long the content of the message I sent today with 9.2 sticks around.

I will keep an eye on the test message I created today.

I still have the images that I sent in yesterday's emails.

I just have to re-create from gray-matter the descriptive content (technical images) that pertains to those images.

This was the first time I had attempted to rely on the iPhone for consolidation of images and technical content.

Learned my lesson there.

After ios9 update my emails with attachments won't open and say "message not yet downloaded from server". They were there previously. How do I get them back?
