After ios9 update my emails with attachments won't open and say "message not yet downloaded from server". They were there previously. How do I get them back?

I am from Germany and i write on german.

Abwarten, was passiert.

Bin ja mal gespannt, was da raus kommt.

Andreas

Still cannot view content of yesterday's sent messages.

Everything that was lost before will remain lost. The fix, assuming it will work, will stop it happening in future.

i would still recommend that a second email address is made and that all very important messages are copied to safety and vital SENT emails are bcc to oneself also.

The lesson I think we all have to learn from this is that you can no longer rely on your Apple device as your safe depository of your emails.Although i am now happy if this fix works, Apple have shown up their testing procedures as most inadequate and so, all this may happen again. So be aware and ensure you keep vital info safe in future. This is no particular reflection on Apple. But obviously they have their fair share of in house incompetence like any other company.

Once bitten, twice shy.

iOS9.2 has not entirely (if at all) cured the POP email issues. There still seems to be a bug that is behaving inconsistently. I did the 9.2 install 24 hours ago and still have mail on the iPhone that arrived yesterday after the 9.2 update. However, several text only emails that arrived only 3 hours ago are now showing only the "message not downloaded from the server" text.

Oddly, numerous messages that were received in early to mid-November are still on the device in the Inbox, Sent and Trash mailboxes. Most of those contain a hyperlink or graphic, but there are also plain text messages that remained on the phone. As far as I can see there is no rhyme or reason to how this bug behaves.

Unfortunately, I had the same thing happen to me just now. I had deleted all of the messages that had this issue and then just now I checked some of the messages and saw this same ugly place holder. These were purely text messages. I was not away from a wifi connection, just not on my iPad.

I had high hopes as the storage data for my email had increased. The only thing that I wondered about was it still shows only an IMAP set up for my email plus I have received several emails from my provider telling me about IMAP....

I sent an email to my advisor but have had little response from her so I don't expect a response.

iPhone 6S+

POP email account.

Considering two emails, one in my INBOX and one in my SENT ITEMS......

24hrs ago IOS 9.1 Both messages visible.

23hrs ago Updated to IOS 9.2 - Messages still visible.

Now 23hrs after updating to IOS 9.2....

"This message has not been downloaded from the server" for both emails.

One of them has an attachment (the email in sent items) and the other doesn't.

After ios9 update my emails with attachments won't open and say "message not yet downloaded from server". They were there previously. How do I get them back?
