iPhone 6 updated to ios9 screen goes black when I open an app

i recently updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 9. Every time I open an app now the screen goes black and I have to push the home button and click on the app again for it to work. Any fix ideas?

I had the same issue with my new iphone 6s 128g. This is usually caused by a random glitch during a software update and/or restore. The solution is typically to restore the iphone through itunes. And in my case restoring the phone worked perfectly and the black out screen is no more! To restore your phone connect to itunes, make a backup, and then restore your phone. The black screen issue should be gone at this point so the next step would be to restore from your backup (it won't replace the fresh ios install - just your apps and data). Good luck!

I Have the iPhone 5s which is doing the same thing since iOS 9 was installed. I've tried activating Siri but with no luck. Reinstalli apps does not work since it happens even with Setting, Camera, and all the other apps. Even tried the restore through iTunes but that still does not solve it. Turning off or resting only fixes it temporarily. Any other suggestions or will this be the next iOS update

Hi folks,

This issue completely disappeared for me after going into settings and manually turning Siri on. This can be deceptive, because I had never turned it off and in fact thought I had been using Siri since the iOS upgrade, so it never occurred to me to try this potential fix. But when I finally decided to check, Siri was indeed showing as "Off" in my settings. When I turned it on, the overall look and feel of Siri changed a little bit, and the black screen problem never returned. So this whole bug could be related to the way in which iOS9 upgraded Siri.

Try it, perhaps in combination with a soft reset afterwards. (iPhone 6 64 gb)
