Cannot take recent calls after upgrading to iOS 9

I've upgraded to iOS 9 last week and I found that my call functions are not working properly.

*Call history is not displaying

* Not Displaying missed calls

*Dial Pad is not active

*Cannot access favorites.

Basically I cannot access Call function window.( I don't know the correct term for that. Sorry ) If i need to get a call, i need to search it form the phone book and find the number. If it's a number i didn't save, i cannot take it.

After restarting, i can access it once. after that, it will appear blank and inactive.

PS. i've restore the phone twice and check. but it's same.

even though i said my problem was solved, it appears time to time. Yesterday it was frozen and couldn't even unlock. I was out and haven't had access to a computer too. i had to reset to restart the phone. hmmm. I thought i would downgrade again. but they have issued another upgrade today. i'll try it and let you know. i got to tell you guys, if this was solved, i won't upgrade my OS here after. Better to find a steady OS and keep attach to it than upgrading and hating the device. don't you think? 😟

I have the Following Issues Since 9.0.1 on my iphone 5. Apple Released 9.0.2 and i upgraded hoping it would fix my issue but it is even worse now. Below are the issues.

1) The touch screen is unresponsive at times.

2) It is very laggy

3) Intermittent call issues. Either i dont hear anything on the call or i hear this static noise.

4) Battery life is very poor. From 100% to 30% in about 2 hours.

5) I have had to restart my phone couple of times to fix an issue with my bluetooth.

I need help apple.

Model: iPhone 5

IOS version: 9.0.2

I have the exact same problem. After upgrading (more of a downgrade due to this problem) whenever I click on my phone app to open the dialer / recent calls / contacts / voicemail, I get only a white screen and then after about 15-20 seconds of hanging it crashes and goes back to the home screen. What good is a phone where you can't make outgoing calls?

I've downloaded 9.0.1 for my version of iPhone and tried to downgrade, but it keeps giving me an error. Would be nice if Apple recognized that they've released a bug-ridden update that is converting their users phones into expensive doorstops, and maybe fix this issue.😠

Hi Deasel... I had the exact same problem you have, took my phone to Apple and was told that my backup was corrupted, so if I restore from the same back up the problem will come back - Basically telling me that I'll have to use my device like a brand new device (loosing all my information). After numerous trials of different options to try to fix the problem, I called into my voicemail to clear the messages. I then swapped the SIM card in the phone for the device to recognize the new number and reset the "Phone App". The phone App worked with the new SIM... I then swapped the SIM back and the problem was solved without loosing my phone information. Seems very simple (just a SIM card swap)... Let me know if this works for you. GoodLuck

Cheers!

I am now at IOS 9.2 (iPhone 5).

The problem still remains. I cant make any calls.

It started with the first IOS 9 upgrade, and seem to get worse ever since.

The phone app seem to freezes randomly for long periods (on the dial screen or the history screen), not allowing to make any ongoing calls or viewing contacts (Incoming calls works).

The app remain frozen after restart, or any other action i have tried.

I have tried deleting the calls history.

I have tried getting the sim card in and out.

I have tried to "update" the phone using iTunes (in maintenance mode).

I have also tried to "restore" it using iTunes.

Nothing works.

There is more then 1G free on the device and all other functionality seem to be OK.

The phone is connected to iCloud and I can see my contacts using other apps.

with iOS 9 I had a greyed out bar blocking my texts - but my recent calls showed up. So I upgraded to 9.01 and I had the same text msg problem (in addition to the fact that the software takes up SO MUCH SPACE I had to delete apps, music, photos etc.).

So they convinced me to upgrade 9.02 and now the cell is not holding the cell number of any recent calls .

And I can't go back to my old version - YIKES ! Its a mess.

My iPhone 6 on iOS 9 keeps failing to make or receive calls.

When I answer an incoming call, they can hear me, but I cannot hear them.

When I make an outgoing call, then at least 50% of the time there is no dialing tone and then it makes a connection but I cannot hear the person.

So my iPhone 6 has become 50% useless on calls since the upgrade ... I assume Apple must know this by now? One would hope so.
