After installing iOS 9 the push notifications for apps like whatsapp are not working correctly.
No sound or vibrate when I get a message? which is rather annoying.
Also when I take a photo inside the app the volume for the music drops to zero.
I have a 6+ and a 6 and they both have the same problems.
Anyone know if someone is working on a fix?

I am seeing the same notification problem with BBM on my iPhone 6S. It gets stuck and new notifications never popsup.
Experiencing issue on both an iPhone 5 and 6S Plus, so it's definitely not model-dependant.
All I can suggest is everyone needs to report this as a bug to Apple ASAP using this link:

We shouldn't have to wait til late October/early November for iOS 9.1 for a fix to this guys, and the more people that report this- the sooner it'll get noticed and fixed.
facing the same issues, its really frustrating that you don't get notified on new messages.. am using IOS 9.0.2 on iPhone 6.. 😟
Today came an update to the Facebook app but apparently the problem persists.
SSadly that proves most likely an IOS issue and not FACEBOOK

I just noticed that I received an email notification without opening the Mail app.
I then sent myself a mail and it pushed to the iPhone.
So maybe Apple woke-up to the issue and did something?

Still not getting certain push notifications. Just looked at the list of fixes in 9.1 & nothing relating ..... PLEASE APPLE!! Listen to your customers.
Same issue...and Apple Support claims ignorance as to the issue.
I wonder how long we have to put up with it!
I've been working with someone in technical support and have a case number for the issue. She was very interested & I forwarded her all the links to the threads regarding it. She stopped responding to me last week when I asked her for an update as to when this will be fixed.

Yes. Gmail app & BBM still working intermittently. ANNOYING!!
Check to see if there are updates for any of your apps that have this problem.

I think we all sadly know that this is an APPLE IOS 9.0.2 issue as I have certainly had a FACEBOOK APP AND WHATSAPP UPDATE since the IOS 9.0.2 update
still major issues with FACEBOOK and a small sound issue with WHATSAPP
hoping the FINAL GENERAL 9.1 IOS update will solve the issues.
Yeh. BBM updated recently & Gmail both still not working. Was no problem before IOS9. Looked at the specs for 9.1 and didn't see anything related to push notifications
