ios9 update -> now touchscreen problems

Ever since I updated to ios 9, my iphone 5s touchscreen is acting crazy. The accuracy of where I touch or slide vs. what the iphone thinks I did is completely off. The phone seems to have a mind of its own too, it starts opening apps and stuff when I'm not even touching it. Then other times it freezes completely for 5-10 minutes. It is nearly impossible to shut it off because it won't swipe when I initiate the turn off screen. The home button works fine. Every once in a while the phone will act normal for like 15 minutes and then it goes crazy again!! Anyone else?? This just started a couple days ago after I did the ios 9 update.

Hi beecccca,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like the iPhone can't be powered off and the touchscreen is opening apps on its own. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

If the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond to touch - Apple Support

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

To force restart your device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Cheers

I swear - until i read your message - mine was working fine! 😉

Now its back to square one - right hand side of keyboard not working correctly - and huge delays in typing, or in general typing its own thing! Soo Frustrating!

I have turned TouchID back off - and done a hard reset of phone - hopefully it will at least get it back to were it was at least a little manageable.

Now my phone is bad. Touch screen make own things or freezing all the time. If I write to message, phone would open some other program to screen or cursor going somewhere else. If I can, I want to downgrade my phone back to ios 8. I hope that Apple can do something about this problem. Phone change is not a option, because problem is really ios 9.

The same problem happens to my iPhone 6 plus. The phone opens Apps, settings, putting passwords, write messages even making calls.

I contacted apple and was told to restore to iOS 9.0.2 as i was using iOS 9.1 beta 4,but did not solve anything!

When I was using iOS 9 beta before official release to public everything was fine. Now I hate my phone and blame apple too!
