After updating to iOS9 I can not sign into iCloud and restore my backup. Now I do not have access to anything on my iPad air. Any way to fix this?

This what I did to get it working:

Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

Once it restarts, just re-input your wifi password. Go back into Settings and check ITunes & App Store, FaceTime, and iCloud to make sure that your Apple accounts are signed in.

Not sure what causes it but each time it does, I've reset the network settings and it resolves the issue.

😁 Guys, Hello there!

This issue is related to the iPhone/iPad network settings, mostly happens when there is a network related change or any other change in the software like an update or new Applications running in background.

This issue can be sorted by simply by doing Network Settings Reset from Settings > General > Reset Network Settings > Confirm.

If this doesn't fix the issue, please comment below.

My iPhone 5 still says it cannot connect to iCloud server. I've tried the following:

- Logged off and reconnected to WiFi

- Reset time and date

- Changed apple ID password

- Logged off through iTunes/App store and tried to log back in

- Tried logging in to iCloud using only cellular data

- Turned off all VPN-related apps

- Reset network settings

My phone is backed up on iCloud, I'd like to restore it through iTunes, but because I can't access iCloud settings through my phone, I can't shut off Find My iPhone and it just stops there. This catch-22 merry go round is driving me nuts!

How do you reset the network? my iPad says it's connected to my usual network, however I keep getting that same error "There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server". Apple support said the servers were up and no maintenance was scheduled, nor has it been down at all today and I still can't get past iCloud log in. I fixed the time, changed my password, and finally ended up manually restoring my iPad with the help of Apple support. But it is stuck on iCloud sign in now, from the iPad set up post-restore. 😢

I read through all the posts as I had a similar problem. It took a lot of steps to finally sort out the problem but I got there in the end!

Got error message: Verification error - cannot connect to Apple ID Server

I changed the Apple ID Password via my PC

Turned off the wifi, logged off from the router and logged back in again

Changed the date and time

Turned the wifi on and off again

Then I got a new error message: An unknown error occurred

I then reset my iPad (held the square button and start down) and to my amazement after trying each of the above steps finally it had worked!! Thank goodness for that! 🙂

Thanks to everyone who posted before me as using all the comments I got there in the end and hopefully this will help someone else before they rip their hair out!

I resolved this after speaking to Apple Support. The following does not delete any data or media. It will remove things like background, screen lock pin and wifi authentication - you'll need your WiFi password to hand before you do this.

1. Select Settings--> General --> Reset --> Reset All Settings

2. Confirm Reset All Settings

3. The phone will restart. Takes about 2 minutes.

4. Once restarted, go back inot Settings --> Wifi

5. Re-select your Network and enter your password

6. Re-try logging in to iTunes and/or iCloud with your username and password.

This worked for me. I hope it works for you.

Remember to re-add your screen lock password.
