iPhone 6S freezes after unlock

Hi all,

I received my iPhone 6S 128GB silver today and I have a problem with it:

When unlocking via fingerprint (which is very fast!!!) the home screen freezes.

So, it unlocks normally, the home screen with all apps shows up but then freezes.

It happens every 2nd or 3rd time I unlock my phone and when the standard home screen shows up.

It freezes for 5-6 second and no matter what I do, the phone doesn't show any reaction - even pushing the home button or the on-off-button.

I restarted the phone several times, "normal" and also restart with "home- & on/off-button"...

Is anyone of you having same issues?

cheers

I installed the iOS 9.2 in my iPhone 6S+ 64GB and I didn't see any improvement about the freezing after unlock by fingerprint.

The lag is between 0.5 and 1.0 second after few minutes idle.

But, I did a test a few days ago in my old iPhone 5S 32GB with iOS 9.1

The lag is also there, with less lag and also less frequent.

I guess this lag is associated with faster CPU on iPhone 6S.

Apple needs to improve the iOS for iPhones 6S, but all of them have this bug, specially the newest and fastest devices.

Not everyone who claims this problem because it has to be fast enough to realize and view this iOS failure.

I had a iPhone 6 64GB with 9.1 without this problem.

I don't know whats going on, but the series S have some serious problems.

I will try the regular 6S only to confirm this problem.

If something happen, I will change for a iPhone 6 and give up this new iPhone.

I don't know if have logic, but looks like this problem is more frequent with 128GB version.

Almost everyone in this forum have a 128GB version of iPhone 6S/6S Plus.

I have been in contact with two "Senior Advisors" and am currently still working with the second one (going on 3 weeks next week when he is scheduled to contact me). They have also collected system logs from both my iPhone and Mac (to make sure the issue wasn't created from the Mac) and it doesn't seem like a resolution is coming anytime soon. I am also running the newest beta and there still isn't a fix. They have assured me I am the only one with the issue, and I have several times linked them to the many threads we have all had going for months now. They are just choosing not to acknowledge it now. It's blatant denial at this point.

I do think the issue is somewhere within the software. I have restored my phone at least 2 dozen times now and have been able to get it to work twice relatively normal for a week each time. They keep having me restore my phone though, so as soon as I get it to work I restore it and it no longer works good. Beyond restoring the phone until it works I haven't found any remedy. I guess if we all just keep posting it may reach someone who cares?

I had this issue, or a similar one. When I turned the phone on, it was fine but soon after the screen would become unresponsive. No matter where I pressed on the screen, nothing would happen. The home button would work, apps were fine, just the screen didn't work. If I turned if off and on, it resolved the problem, but then a few seconds later it might freeze again. Or it might not. I tried lots of things (see my earlier posts on this thread) to fix it, like turning off Siri, Touch ID, etc. But in the end, the thing that fixed it was getting a new iPhone 6S from Apple. Now it works perfectly! So if you have this issue, I recommend contacting Apple support directly and working to get it exchanged.

This is my 4th replacement phone from Apple. Same issue occurs on all of them straight out of the box setup as a new phone. I have done everything you have mentioned and more. I'm currently working with someone who was put in contact with me from Executive Relations after I emailed Mr. Cook himself. i wish it was as simple as getting a new phone. Also I've seen several people replace their phones more than me, some up to 7 times with the same exact issue occuring on all of their phones.

I hear ya there. The issue is so widespread and yet Apple still does nothing to remedy the issue. People were posting the day the new phones launched. It could have easily been fixed in one of the later updates. I have collected so many diagnostic/system logs to pass on to the engineers, it's ridiculous. I have my weekly phone call with the senior advisor next week, hopefully the engineers have some info?

I have that installed and the issue still persists. Last week I restored my phone and was able to successfully get rid of the issue. I installed the new beta and it worked great. This week they had me restore my phone to replicate the issue to get some logs and I did everything the exact same as last week and I still have the lag with the new beta. It's gotta be something sensitive with the software installs that corrupts it and makes the issue happen.

Uhh. I just got my 6s and this problem is huge. Why have no reviews mentioned this? This is a huge deal and googling the issue because I noticed it immediately is the first i'm hearing of it but its apparently wide spread? How is this not fixed? Has apple said anything? My phone is basically unusable. Should I take it back or is this a software issue?
