iPhone 6S freezes after unlock

Hi all,

I received my iPhone 6S 128GB silver today and I have a problem with it:

When unlocking via fingerprint (which is very fast!!!) the home screen freezes.

So, it unlocks normally, the home screen with all apps shows up but then freezes.

It happens every 2nd or 3rd time I unlock my phone and when the standard home screen shows up.

It freezes for 5-6 second and no matter what I do, the phone doesn't show any reaction - even pushing the home button or the on-off-button.

I restarted the phone several times, "normal" and also restart with "home- & on/off-button"...

Is anyone of you having same issues?

cheers

Can confirm the same issue. I did NOT restore from backup, it was a clean install. Iphone 6s 64GB space grey.

I came here to write the exact same thing, the touch sensor is wicked fast, but every few times, I get a 2-5 second "freeze" on the home screen. Occationally I'll be able to hit an app before it freezes, and then it is jumpy in the app for a few seconds.

My friend just got his and complains about the same thing.

IPHONE FREEZING AFTER UNLOCK = INDEXING AFTER SET UP

When you set up your new phone, the phone indexing process can take a day or two, longer if you don't have constant access to WIFI.

During this time the iPhone performance will be slightly slower and freeze after unlock. If you have just bought the phone and it hasn't been long after you have set the phone up I would not worry about this. My iPhone 6s did the same thing for two days because I was constantly on the move and didn't have data access to allow the phone to index properly.

Doing a restore or getting a new phone wont solve the problem as you will then have to index your phone all over again!

I'm sorry but I find that pretty hard to believe. I have never had this problem in the past, and if this 'indexing process' has to be downloaded over WiFi, then I'm sure it's no bigger than the 4GB back up I downloaded or the films that I stream. My broadband download speed is roughly 30Mb/s which isnt the fastest out there but its not bad at all. I think it's just another **** Apple first OS release.

ANYONE READING THIS THREAD STILL WITH THIS PROBLEM:

I had this problem as soon as I set up my phone. It has now gone away.

Please wait a few days until all your apps have downloaded and iCloud data is downloaded (such as photos and folders).

Most people (like myself) have found that the issue went away the first few days after set-up, especially if you have a lot of iCloud files syncing and app data downloading.

Make sure you are connected to a good WIFI connection to allow the phone to complete its setup.

RESTORING THE PHONE WONT HELP. If you have a lot of data, your iPhone will be indexing the data and this process needs to complete. During this time the phone will be slightly slower.

Had the same issue on today bought 6S Plus 128Gb Space Grey. But solved it completely. I noticed that (at least in my case) this lagging and freezing began after I added 5 fingertips just as I had on my 5S previously. So after I deleted all but the first one, the problem is gone immediately. It's a fingertip sensor software problem I hope that will be fixed soon, I also hope my comment will help anyone here.

I've also had android phones in the past but switched to iPhones since the iPhone 5. I understand the issue, as I've been living with it for 2 weeks, I'm no computer scientist but I am an apple enthusiast and a general tech enthusiast. I'm just really annoyed that I've payed £700 my phone and I have to live with this until Apple push out an update to fix it. This wasn't directed at anyone personally I'm just annoyed because of the constant problems I seem to get with my iPhone's. Oh and this is a real username and I'm not a current android user. Please don't bother posting if your going to post a very original comment to a slightly negative comment.
