iPhone 6S freezes after unlock

Hi all,

I received my iPhone 6S 128GB silver today and I have a problem with it:

When unlocking via fingerprint (which is very fast!!!) the home screen freezes.

So, it unlocks normally, the home screen with all apps shows up but then freezes.

It happens every 2nd or 3rd time I unlock my phone and when the standard home screen shows up.

It freezes for 5-6 second and no matter what I do, the phone doesn't show any reaction - even pushing the home button or the on-off-button.

I restarted the phone several times, "normal" and also restart with "home- & on/off-button"...

Is anyone of you having same issues?

cheers

Can confirm the same issue. I did NOT restore from backup, it was a clean install. Iphone 6s 64GB space grey.

I came here to write the exact same thing, the touch sensor is wicked fast, but every few times, I get a 2-5 second "freeze" on the home screen. Occationally I'll be able to hit an app before it freezes, and then it is jumpy in the app for a few seconds.

My friend just got his and complains about the same thing.

I haven't been following the thread up until today but I just had a flick through the history of all the repies, on my phone, and only a few people said their phones got better over time. I'm really not trying to argue with you and I respect your opinion but I still have, the same problem that I had on the 6S I got on release day, and it's been a week now. I hope you are right and it will sort its self out over time. It'll save me the annoyance of having to wait until late October or November for iOS 9.1

By turning off Live Wallpapers on lock screen and Perspective for home screen was I able to get rid of the freezing when unlocking my iPhone 6s + Rose Gold. I have owned the iPhone since launch day and I have very little in iCloud for it to be the cause of the problem. Had the phone replaced today and I am still getting the same problem, so it must be an iOS issue.

Just moved from Android and having this problem too. Did a hard reset and restored from iTunes as a new back-up. Still doing it. I only have a 2 week period with my carrier before I can send this back. So people actually think it is a software usual? I don't want to be snide here, but I can go back to Android and pay half the price if these are common bugs.

Maybe we have two seperate issues? Mine seems to have gotten slightly worse, it used to just freeze after I unlocked it with Touch ID, but now the the time and all the other icons disappear for a couple of seconds too. It's highly unlikely I would get 2 devices with the same problem and I've restored my phone from a number of different iCloud backups, so I can only assume my problem is software related, in some way or another. I've been looking at the new Windows lumia 950xl that's due to come out, the only thing that puts me off them is the lack of apps available. Any way, I'll update you of any changes with the 6S.

I had a launch day 6s+ which did not have this problem. I just got a replacement 6s+ to fix a Bluetooth issue. I set it up as new and almost every single time I unlock it, it freezes for upwards of 10 seconds. The longer I go without using it, the more likely it's to have a problem.

Also almost every time I unlock it, the top status bar disappears for a few seconds. I think it's related.

I don't see how it' scan indexing issue as the problem was happening before I even logged into iCloud or installed any apps. If anything it's gotten worse since yesterday. This is what I see around 50% of the time when I unlock the phone after having not used it for at least 30 seconds.

Here's a video of me trying to interact with the screen for a good 9 seconds. Eventually it loads the clock app which isn't something I even tapped. This isn't something that happens occasional. It's fairly frequent.

It affects anything that causes the screen to turn off. For example I used "hey Siri" and she didn't respond for 10 seconds after the beep. I also had a Bluetooth connection fail because the phone was unresponsive too long.

As I mentioned, my original phone didn't do this and I had restored it from a backup and also set it us as new (to troubleshoot a Bluetooth issue)

I was having this exact same problem. @Morac, your video demonstrates it perfectly. I got my phone on Saturday, set it up as a new phone. I tried every suggestion here. Turn off Siri Suggestions in Spotlight ( in fact i had all items in spotlight turned off ), DHR, Turned Off/On TouchID, turned off a bunch of GPS stuff, cycled the low power mode, turned off live wallpaper, turned off perspective zoom, turned on reduce motion and allot more but none of it worked. Then suddenly, yesterday afternoon and ever since the problem has simply vanished.

Current Settings for things I was playing around with.

Spotlight Search>Siri Suggestions: Off

Spotlight Search>Everything Else: On

Touch ID: On

Handoff: Off

Installed Apps: On

Reduce Motion: Off

3D Touch: On

iCloud Backup: Off

Live Wallpaper: Enabled on Lock Screen

Perspective Zoom Wallpaper: Enabled on Home Screen

Privacy>Location Services>System Services: EVERYTHING Disabled Except Find My iPhone and Share My Location

No idea what this means but i'll take it for now.

I am having the same issue, and I've had the phone since release day.

AT&T - iPhone 6s - 128GB - White

I am using TouchID, 4 fingers registered, with a 7 digit numerical pass-code. I have the iPhone with the Samsung processor in it.

I did a support chat with Apple, and they suggested that I turn off the pass-code, restart, and then turn it back on. It's still there, but it's only about a second now.

Spotlight Search > Siri Suggestions: Off

Spotlight Search > Everything Else: Off

Touch ID > On

Handoff > Off

Background App Refresh > Off

Installed Apps > On

Reduce Motion > Off

3D Touch > Off

iCloud Backup > On

Live Wallpaper > Off

Perspective Zoom Wallpaper >Off

Privacy> Location Services>System Services: EVERYTHING Disabled by Find my iPhone

Find my iPhone > Enabled

Bluetooth > On

Wireless > On

**UPDATE**

It's my Exchange sync with Google Apps. I had it off while I was testing with the Apple Chat, and when I turned it back on, it's taking forever to unlock and its freezing now.

Is anyone else that has this issue using any type of Active Sync?
