My iPhone stops playing music when taking photos?!

HI there...

My iPhone 6S seems to stop playing music both from iTunes or Spotify when I open the camera to take a photograph. I assumed there would be some obvious way to allow it to continue playing. It's a bit annoying to be honest! I just want to continue listening to my music whilst taking photogrsphs...

I can't find anything on the web... Or on here... Can't find anything on the phone... It didn't happen with my iPhone 5...

If anybody knows anything or has any idea if this is actually a design feature or just annoying I'd appreciate any advice!

Cheers! 🙂

I dont’t know if I’m allowed to post this, but in my bug report there was an answer today, telling me there isn't any new information available for this issue. The person has checked with engineering and the issue is still under investigation, and there is no resolution available yet. THIS is frustrating. I mean, this issue exists since the iPgone 6S’ release! But now I start to repeat myself …

At this point I guess, Liese Schwarz is right:

I am wondering if Apple is just planning to fix it for iPhone 7 and have no plans to fix it for 6s. Which would be truly unforgivable.

👿 Is this is so ridiculous I mean Tim should be all over this and in the days of Steve Jobs somebody would've got fired over this seriously this is such a ridiculous bug because you can use your phone to take pictures and listen to music at the same time in the messages app but you cannot do it on any other place on ip6s!! Try it!!!! huge bug absolutely an enourmous bug and I would kick somebody's butt over this if I was working at Apple! Get it together i mean dont make people think its a hardware issue Apple!!! And dont allow sloppy code to degrade the brand and get coders lazy over there. Im lol at this everyday its an outrage !!!!😮 😁

Now, you guys all enjoy alphawavs work-around to •somebody• (you know who you are!) @ Apple very lazy coding :

while you're listening to music go to messages and take a photo from there !

Hopefully somebody that's closer to Tim and Eddie than me can put this persistent bug right in front of their faces!!

But nobody bother Jon Ivy he's busy with iWatch , plenty busy

Thanks, Apple, for being so slow and ridiculous and damaging the iPod / iMusic experience .....

Well I'll be darned. Sure enough as you said, you can take a photo in imessage, and the audio does not stop. I also tried the camera in Lightroom mobile, and the audio continues to play. The disadvantage to either of these is that you don't have the quick launch option as with the native camera.

This problem came about when they added the "Live" photo option. I turned it off first thing. Neither I, nor anyone I know, use this function.

I am so irritated. Called Apple AGAIN about this. Got yet another "Senior Advisor" -- this one simply COULD NOT UNDERSTAND what I was saying (although I have described it exquisitely clearly in writing multiple times in previous reports, and she kept me on hold for like 20 min reading the previous notes). First she gave me the same old line I have heard before, about "an update coming TODAY will fix it!" and when it did NOT fix it and I called her back, she first said that I'll "have to wait for Apple to fix it" and then ended by saying that it must be a HARDWARE issue with my device and that I should get a replacement.

Yeah, right.

So disgusted.

I just went live and had to go out with a Tweet on this issue. all the way to the top , baby!

I think Apple has been very irresponsible both on the coding of Live Photos and the explanation of Live Photos .

They brought out a new feature without a) a proper explanation and, most importantly, b) the proper coding and "sliders" to turn it off and be able to have the camera functionality that the regular iphone 6 does. (i.e. be listening to music and be able to take photos without music shutting off!)

Shame on you, Apple. Its been way to long since the release date...

Done! Now the ridiculous wait begins... I love stumping "Geniuses" with this question when I have time on my travels. So far have brought it up in Pasadena, CA , Costa Mesa, DC store, and soon I will be going to the Palo Alto store with it. You guys should (if you have the time) take it to the local Genius at your store also...

My question at the end can never be answered by any Genius.

I always ask : "Are you guys moving backward in usability with the 6s?" The answer is a blank stare...

I dont get it!!

Hello,

Confirming this problem persists in the newly released iOS 9.3.1, as well as on iPhone SE.

Even with "Live Photos" turned off, music/audio mutes when accessing the Camera. This problem is not present within "in-app" Camera functions (i,e; Messages "Take a Photo") which leads me to believe this is a bug with Live Photos not truly being "off" despite the user selecting that option.

Reported to Apple as bug report #25510897

Thanks,

Sam

GREAT! All we can do now is keep presssuring because if not they will continually lie to us (one genius called it a "hardware limitation" and gasped when I showed him that you can listen to music and take a photo during imessage with no problems)

I just wish that the great company that is apple wasnt so darn dumb when it comes to things like this. I mean, this is something that Steve would have simply not allowed. And neither should any of todays management allow HUGE BUGS LIKE THIS! 😮
