iPhone 6 Glass Screen Protectors do not work on 6s

Picked up my new iPhone 6s on Friday. Always have used glass screen protectors on all my iPhones. Currently have the Zagg HD Glass on my work phone (iPhone 6 Plus). Anyway, picked up new 6s, grabbed a Zagg Invisible Shield HD Glass protector. Went to apply it, and it will not seat the entire edge of the device. About 1/4" in from the edge towards the center, it leaves about 1/4" gap where you can visibly see the glass protector has not seated the glass all the way.

Long story short, 6 screen protectors later, tried using an off brand at the kiosk at a local mall, (made for iPhone 6), and same deal. Was at the Apple store earlier, and told that the glass in the 6s is the same exact curvature as the 6. Went back to the Apple store later that day, was told the curvature is completely different.

The gentleman who sold me the off brand protector at the mall kiosk said he had the same exact issue with a customer earlier that day, had them return the phone (6s) for a new one and he was able to apply the protector no problem. At this point I walked into the Apple store and was told that the curvature is different and need to wait for new protectors spec'd to fit the 6s.

I know Zagg makes the Glass Luxe for the 6s, but I am not a fan of the colors.

My question is, can anyone confirm the curvature of the glass is in fact different than the 6? I've applied numerous Zagg Glass protectors on my 6 and never has this issue.

Excellent post! Congratulations!

I think to know if next iPhone or a corrective design for the current one would be suitable to install screen protectors or not it's only a matter of verifying if the screen is fully flat: no curved surfaces would work.

Since a screen protector is necessary, as you and almost all the members from this Community, I think there is nothing to do with current iPhone screen design and its production quality control.

Sure! Exactly what I’ve been stating in all my posts since I’ve found out this.

No, you've been suggesting since manufacturers are incompetent, Apple needs to redesign the iPhone and recall 10's of millions and replace the screens.

That is not gonna happen nor should it even be a consideration. It is easily one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever heard.

It's up the manufacturers to design a screen product that works.

Apple designed an iPhone that works and is a million times more complex than a small piece of glass/plastic.

Apple even designed a curved glass screen!!!

Why don't/can't these manufacters make a simple piece of plastic/glass that works?

You’re the only member of the Community who stated screen protectors manufactures are incompetent, not me.

You also declared your iPhone is fine despite it accumulates dirt underall around the screen protector border.

My statement have been always iPhone 6 and 6s screen design and production quality control are deficient and that due to this designing and producing screen protectors which fit suitably is impossible.

In fact, there are no screen protectors manufacturers that have produced products that fit iPhone 6 and 6s.

Please, stop lying.

They can't make a product that fits and think its a good product?

My iPhone doesn't accumulate dirt.

My statement have been always iPhone 6 and 6s screen design and production quality control are deficient and that due to this designing and producing screen protectors which fit suitably is impossible

This is where you prove your complete ignorance

What makes you think it's "impossible" to make a piece of glass covering?

And since it's "impossible" why are they making somethibg that doesn't work and stating it does work?

More importantly, why are you spending your money on these products when you KNOW they will not fit (since it"s impossible to make one that fits).

In fact, there are no screen protectors manufacturers that have produced products that fit iPhone 6 and 6s.

Okay.

Please, stop lying.

What do you think I am lying about?

Why are you afraid to contact manufacturers about their screen protectors not fitting?

What if Apple changed the screens to fit the screen protectors and then these companies changed the screen protectors?

iPhone 6 and 6s screen design and production quality control are deficient

You keep using the word deficient. I don't think it means what you think it means.

The the product is the iPhone. Companies need to build to the iPhone. Apple doesn't build the iPhone to fit third party products.

Which company should Apple design their products around?

What if company A makes a 3.7" screen protector that is oval, company B makes a 3.9" screen protector that is square and company C makes a 4.1" screen protector that is a triangle?

The only way to guarantee two curved glass parts fit together is to curve them together in their production process. Additionally, it's necessary to insert a special plastic component between them.

This way, it's impossible to apply a curved glass protector to the iPhone 6 and 6s curved glass screen; the protector and the screen are not made together nor a special plastic part inserted between them.

As, by design, iPhone 6 and 6s screen active surfaces are wider than flat surfaces, the glass protectors have to encompass the curved screen surfaces, both sides: design deficiency.

As, by a production defect , the screen flat surface is less wide than the design one, the curved surface the protector have to encompass is even larger: production quality control deficiency.

The construction the screen protectors manufacturers use is producing a flat glass protector wider than iPhone 6 and 6s screens active surfaces, in order to avoid images discontinuities.

As the protector has to be larger than the screen flat surface, dirt is acumulated under all around it and results are an horrible appearance and the protector gradual disattachment and edges breaking. Some of the protectors manufacturers paint the protectors contour to hide this bad appearance zone. Others, curve the edges with smaller radius, to appear they fit the screen but it generates a hollow zone under the protector.

By another kind of production defect, there are several iPhone 6 in which the flat surface is wider than the active surface and the flat glass protectors fit the screens perfectly.

If the screen flat surface was wider enough than the screen active surface, this problem wouldn't occur and this is the only solution for it, reason for which only Apple can resolve it.

Does anyone confirm that Zagg HDX will fit entirely on iPhone 6s?no more sides that doesnt adhere?i want to try HDX coz im done with tempered glass for my iPhone 6s, i've completely wasted my money on different tempered glass before i read this post, i bought tech armor, zagg, and i even tried Panzerglass tempered glass from Denmark but still the sides does not adhere,i thought i bought a deffective glass that the sides has no adhesive.

You mean the screen protector companies need to design something that fits properly.

When you go to the store and purchase a shirt or pants, do you cut your arm/leg off to make them fit properly?

I mean what I meant. I don't know about your technical knowledge nor your logical thinking ability but reading slowly and carefully the whole post should be enough. Also, if it is necessary, you could read it more than one time, same mode.

Anyway, it's not necessary understanding nor replying the post.

It's not about clothes, cars seats covers or carpets, like you've told; it's about screens protectors for iPhone 6 and 6s, please, take note.
