Does MS Office 2008 work with El Capitan?

Is there anyone here that have used MS Office 2008 with El Capitan and can inform me if it works or not? Word and Excel works fine with Yosemite and I do not want to upgrade to El Capitan if Office 2008 if it does not work. Thank you.

I updated to El Capitan from Snow Leopard as our iphones (6 and 6S) would not connect to itunes without updates to itunes that would not happen under the old version. Also, we were running into issues with Entourage on Rogers with an error message about an invalid certificate and an imap dns certificate error and loss of security. I say ok and the email (Entourage) functions normally but it happens every time I open the program. Rogers would have nothing to do with a fix, as it is a software issue. I was running Office: Mac 2008. Since the update i have more problems and the issue with the certificate error has not gone away. The errors include always having to allow incoming networks every time on programs such as itunes, Entourage (of course), and anything else in my firewall list (Security & Privacy) that requires a network connection - and this is something that happens every time now. There is not even the option to 'Don't ask me again'!! Very, very frustrated with Apple right now! I removed Office 2008 from my system and was going to do a reinstall but el Capitan will not load the software from the disc, and no, there is nothing wrong with the cd/dvd player as I tried other discs and it works fine...what a fuss, and any good support does not exist. I do not want to go messing around with code! Sigh!

I use Word 2009 on my early Imac24 on El Capitan for years, until MicroSoft killed it on my machine. Now I cannot find a word processer that will work. I tried to update to Sierra, but was told it doen't work on my computer. I don't know if the OS doesn't work or whether I don't have enough storage. Apple refuses to say which is true.

Also I cannot find anything else that runs on my computer. Why did MicroSoft kill my Word 2008? It was mine.
