Does MS Office 2008 work with El Capitan?

Is there anyone here that have used MS Office 2008 with El Capitan and can inform me if it works or not? Word and Excel works fine with Yosemite and I do not want to upgrade to El Capitan if Office 2008 if it does not work. Thank you.

I'm sure your issue is long resolved, but in case others have a similar question: I changed to El Capitan last week and immediately began having problems with MS Word 2008 (frequently freezing and "not responding"). I called Microsoft Customer Service and they informed me that in fact they are not compatible, which explains the problem. So, according to MS, you'll have to upgrade your MS Office (i think to at least 2010 or newer) if you want to use El Capitan.

All Office apps are crashing with "Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib"

That's an alias to libstdc++.6.0.9, which is different between my 10.11.5 system (where all works)

and my 10.11.6 system, where no Office apps work.

Have you got 10.5.6 Apple developer tools loaded on your machine?
That's another variable that might be affecting the dylib.

In any case, the situation is still bad.
