Does MS Office 2008 work with El Capitan?

Is there anyone here that have used MS Office 2008 with El Capitan and can inform me if it works or not? Word and Excel works fine with Yosemite and I do not want to upgrade to El Capitan if Office 2008 if it does not work. Thank you.

I got it to work!!

My initial attempts to install Office Mac 2008 using the original CD/DVD I purchased at the Apple store were unsuccessful. I tried everything I could find about it on the Web, in chatrooms, etc.

Here's what finally worked. I used Apple's Migration Assistant to move my Applications from my old MacBook Air (which included Office Mac 2008 on Yosemite) to my new MacBook running El Capitan.

I hope this works for you.

The basic problem with analyzing, determining and providing a definitive answer to ones question (or questions) is that there are so many variables. #1 - The person asking the question doesn't explain in exact detail the circumstances or conditions under which they are trying to use (or Integrate) an app. #2 - is that many people providing answers overlook the simplest solutions and immediately delve into some "tech-o babble" basically trying to impress everyone with their so-called "high tech expertise".

For example (my situation). I just bought a new iMac 27" Quad-Core and it came loaded with OS X 10.10 Yosemite. I had all my files, folders and yes, even my apps migrated from my old iMac (which was running OS X 10.6.8). Surprisingly MS Office 2008 ran perfectly on Yosemite - no major problems. So, as explained, this new iMac already has MS Office 2008 loaded (and running fine) on OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite. Under the described conditions, my question (from someone who has the exact same situation), will (or should) MS Office 2008 (including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Entourage) run fine (with no problems) if I would download and install OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)?

Of course, I have the same concerns concerning my Adobe CS4 Suite but that's another subject............

PS: Actually this posting is not really "in answer" to Jam Palm's posting.............but I guess I am so stupid that I do not know how to create a "new" post in this thread. How does one do that???

My MS Office 2008 works with El Capitan but it working slow and wonky. But the most annoying glitch is the visuals. The image on the screen for documents in word or for Excel and Powerpoint is very fuzzy and out of focus...sort of like a soft focus on a camera. I have a mid 2015 new iMac with a 5K retina screen and this is a real pain to work with. Is anybody experiencing this problem and does anyone have a solution?

Fortunately Migrating from my late 2006 iMac let my MS Office 2008 work mostly on my new to me Mini w/ 10.11.1.

Zoom problem in Excel:

I am no longer able to enter a custom zoom level (like 115%) by highlight the zoom window in tool bar and entering my size. I am only able to use pre-selects in the drop down menu. Anyone notice this and have a work around or fix?

Thanks, Dave
