ios 9.0.2 update -> Now touchscreen problems!

I updated my iPhone 5s 64g to iOS 9.0.2 from 9.0.1 last night over wifi, immediately the phone started misregistering my finger press and touch locations. The screen now intermittently opens apps, fails to allow the keyboard to be used correctly, will register touches when I am not even touching the phone. I had the phone in a lifeproof case (nuud) with screen protector (yes this is how it's supposed to be done!) - after the errors began I tried removing the case, removing the screen protector, and hard resetting the phone - this is NOT a hardware issue!

Hard resetting the iphone will sometimes clear the issue for a few minutes, then it begins again sporadically and intermittently - yet often enough that it is a huge headache to deal with. I can now pretty much only reliably use my phone through siri, and only then if I can get the phone to unlock from a hard reset! I spoke to apple support via chat, they recommended that I backup to icloud and restore the phone as "new iphone" and then only to restore data from the icloud backup. I made an appointment with my local "genius" bar (ugh do I hate saying that) though since this device is now outside of the 1 year warranty & applecare, And even though the update caused the error they will likely only replace the device with a replica for $269...

SUPER FRUSTRATED AT YOU APPLE!!! Give us a way to roll back these failed updates!!!

Update: When the iphone is plugged in to my macbook pro the touchscreen problems completely go away! possible emergency stop-gap solution... may as well tape my iphone to my macbook and walk around with it boombox-style. That's true apple swag.

Which model iPhone do you have? I have the 6+ and it's been a nightmare ever since iOS 9.x.x. I took the advice of a couple of people here to use the beta iOS 9.1 Beta 5. It is a world of difference!!! I would say its better than 8.4.1. It's fast. It does have its quirks but it's so so much better!!!! It makes you enjoy your iphone again. I would honestly say that my best experience with an iPhone would be the 5s on ios7.x.x. Apple has been going downhill incrementally for the past couple of years and it shows it continuing the downhill trend with the 6s From the reviews and complaints. So I would say give 9.1 beta 5 a shot. If you don't like it , you can revert back to 9.0.2. Or go Samsung.

Same touchscreen problem since 9.0.2 update.

iPhone 6 Plus, latest 9.0.2, force restarted, newly restored as per clueless Apple customer support.

The iPhone becomes completely useless without the touch screen capabilities.

Apple, please release new iOS update with the touchscreen fix ASAP!!!!

I'm going to install 9.1 Beta to see if that fixes it..

I have the iPhone 6 Plus; the upgrade to iOS 9.0 was a NIGHTMARE. It would not let me sign onto my phone afterwards, the touchscreen would not respond after the 1st number entered. Eventually, I was able to log onto my phone, but the touchscreen would malfunction on a regular basis; as I use my phone for work, it was a disaster. iOS 9.0.1 did nothing to fix my problem; 9.0.2 made touchscreen response even worse. I returned the phone to factory settings and reinstalled through iTunes. It worked until I REALLY needed my phone, such as an incoming business call that it would not let me answer. Last Saturday, I turned my iPhone into an Apple store for a new one. Thank GOD it had iOS 8.x.x! I will NOT upgrade the iOS until a "for certain fix/upgrade" is provided by Apple AND many reviews of good results.

On my iPhone 6, I now have apps launching without me touching anything! In the middle of using an app, others will open and close. Since Apple is aware of the many issues with the iOS 9.x updates, why rush to release 9.1, just let us go back to 8.4.2 ??? Then you can really do a thorough beta test of 9.1! This update mess is going to cost Apple many users. When my contract is up, I seriously will consider an android based phone. Another reason to leave iPhone... An Android based phone will fully work in my 2015 Mustang, where as Apple only does the basics, oh yeah, and it no long support Microsoft Outlook Notes.

Same problem !!

I am using apple products since my first iPod bought in 2005. I never faced ANY problem with any of my Apple products. Even my iPhone 6Plus was working fine till I upgraded iOS to 9.

I don't think its a problem with the hardware. My iPhone 6Plus was working fine till I upgraded to iOS 9. Its very frustrating that Apple couldn't fix this issue in 9.01 & 9.02. I did everything as suggested by Apple support but there is no resolution. My last option is to give my phone to authorised service provider who is likely to keep my phone with him for 5-6 days. Thats another problem.

Why there is no official Apple communication on this so far ?
