I am getting an error message that says "ThIs message has not been downloaded from the server" ever since I updated my iPad with the new IOS. I think my server uses Pop. Can anyone please help me figure out what I need to do. I am not real computer savvy so I would need it in simple language because I don't understans all the high tech talk. Thanks in advance!

Hi Terri,
I understand that you are getting a message that the message has not download when trying to view emails on your iPad. Let's see if we can get it sorted out.
The first thing I would try is force closing out of the app. Double press the home button to bring up multitasking and swipe up on Mail. Once you have down that, launch mail again to see if the message fully downloads.
Force an app to close in iOS

Let me know if this works or need further assistance.

Hi, I agree with your comment. If you read the posts above they include words like suffering, struggling etc.... have you seen anyone official from apple support to interfere or even reply? Only a few iPhone fanatics who have other kind of interests reply but with no luck. I am very disappointed with apple! I have repeatedly send them inquiries asking them to help me and solve the problem but they keep a loud silence... that easily declares that they are incompetent. Disappointing.....

I have found a work-around! 😝

When removing message from TRASH, avoid using the DELETE ALL command !! Instead, delete each message individually, eg by swiping left.

Since I've been removing trashed messages one at a time, all messages Inbox and in Sent have remained downloaded.

If this works for you, please will you mark my reply a Helpful?

Rationale:

The problem always occurred - that is to say additional messages lost their content saying the Message was not downloaded from the server - after I just emptied the Trash folder.

I wondered if Apple were somehow not properly indexing or identifying which messages were to be deleted. So I tried laboriously deleting my trashed messages one a time for three months. I have had no occurrence of the problem since then.

Apple please note.

This message has not been downloaded from the server.
