Google Search not working from address bar in Safari

Hi,

Since I updated to El Capitan I am no longer able to run Google search from the URL bar on Safari. Bing and the others work fine.

Notice that when I type "google analytics for apps" the following URL is generated:

https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=google+analytics+for+apps&i e=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

But nothing happens, the loading does not proceed. In Networks -> DNS I have not manually added any DNS Servers and Search Domains but some defaults are added (128. etc.).

Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Everyone seems to have gone off on a tangent on this, saying stuff about routers, the router is working for all other sites and devices, has worked for many years without issue. The problem lies with Safari and we need answers on this. Do Apple monitor these threads? Does anyone have a real answer that doesn't include getting a new router?

thanks devros.. did you run the update last night, is that why you think you're seeing better results? My issue with this problem runs deeper than just the google search bar, Im having terrible trouble with all google products, especially loading youtube and embedded youtube videos in other webpages such as facebook, anyone else having the same issue?

A few points to share:

-I have gone through the official process with Apple engineers to log this problem. They have taken multiple "captures" of info from my computer and network when I re-create the problem. So far no update from them. They have been advised of this thread.

-I didn't see any improvement with the latest update, if anything the problem has become worse. Before the update it was becoming a lot more reliable.

- I am also seeing lots of problems with other google content, especially embedded youtube videos.

Just logging for the record that I am having this problem too. A few observations:

1) it's affecting many but not all of my https:// sites. All google (gmail, accounts, google.com), LinkedIn, Yahoo, Facebook, Wikipedia even are not displaying - generally all because 'Safari cannot establish a secure connection to the server'. Oddly though, sites like https://www.twitter.com are working.

2) I loaded Chrome up as well and the same sites are affected/not affected. I get the message No data received (ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE) in Chrome.

3) Prior to mucking around with some Network settings this morning, if I hit Command+R approx 10 times the secure pages would load correctly. After removing the only extension installed, clearing caches and cookies, disabling DNS pre-fetching, etc, none of them now load at all.

I'm running Safari 9.0.1 on El Capitan, which came preinstalled on a brand new MBP 6 months ago (and was working fine until 1-2 months ago). All of these sites display correctly through a high end HP Win 10 laptop running in parallel here so it is not the router/network config. Given multiple browsers on the same machine are having problems, it looks like something in the networking within OS X is the issue.

D'oh. Will call Apple Support shortly...
