I have the same issue as this guy
Notifications for Mail after upgrading to El Capitan not working
OF COURSE I COULD REPLY THERE, if not the side or Safari was bugged
and no "reply", "I have the same problem" or "reply to the original post" worked.
I tried several things like turning it off and on again in Notifications or Mail itself,
but it does simply not work.

Do you have "Do Not Disturb" activated in Notifications? If so, turn it off. (That was what caused my 'no sound in Mail' issue). Apple confirmed that answering my bug report.
Prior to version 10.11.2, none of the previous suggestions worked for me. After updating yesterday (12/12/2015) to OS X El Capitan, Version 10.11.2, audible email notifications did not initially work, but after disabling and re-enabling notifications in the Mail app (as detailed three posts above), audible notifications have returned (for me).
Note, as LexSchellings was quick to point out, I now see what I did was the same thing he suggested back in October. I did not go back and reread all of the previous posts and did not intend to take credit for his solution. What I provided only adds much more detail for those that may need it.

You make yourself a laugh:
- exactly the same solution, the word SOLVED makes it worse.
- " What I provided only adds much more detail for those that may need it" Not whatsoever, everybody knows how to launch SystemPreferences (and there several more methods to do it than you present)
- "I did not go back and reread all of the previous posts" this makes it even worse: you ridicule all contributers that did a serious effort to find a solution, and btw they gave more extra information to learn, which you did not at all, just bragg.
