iOS 9.1 causing app store issues

hello, i have updated my iPhone 6s to IOS 9.1, which claims to fix in issue with app store downloads and game center log in.

strange enough, i started having these issues after the update, i never faced it with IOS 9.0.2. now i'm unable to use the app store for any download, and i can't access game center either. i'm even facing some wifi connectivity issues. so basically, IOS 9.1 gave me the issues that it was supposed to solve 😕

i have tried hard resets and restores, i have lost some valuable data and apps along the way, nothing worked. i'm using iTunes on my macbook to install apps for the time being. but any idea how to fix this ? never in 6 years i faced issues with iPhones. so i guess now apple have broken my virginity.

This is truly an epic bug. My AppleID works for everything on my iMac running El Cap, on an iPhone 4S and iPad 4 running 9.1, on an iPad Mini Retina running 9.0.2, an iPhone 3G, and iPad 1 with various iOS versions.

For me, it is my 6S Plus running 9.1, and 9.2 beta, that the problem is the worst. Not only because it disables the store, but other apps, and car connectivity. this iPhone is my go to device, so it really ***** to have problems with it.

It may a difficult bug to squash. We only think it is simple because it wasn't there for 9.0.2. But when it appears it seems to spread across the device to things like Pandora and Frozen Free Fall which for me don't open unless I use my son's ID and then all is right. So 9.1 isn't really broken if you have the type of ID that most users have.

Google watches don't bring up much about this bug so it isn't widespread. We will need to use workarounds for perhaps a couple months, in my opinion. It *****, but I'm doing fine with separate cloud and store IDs. It's not perfect, but almost everything works.

Reservedly happy to see that I'm not alone in this, despite Apple's insistence that I am. See my Medium post on it:

I've been having these issues since 8.4 so it's not limited to 9.1 for me. What a debacle!

I believe any pre iOS 9.1 issues you may have experienced were an unrelated issue with Apple Music. Those issues were more widespread and are mostly gone now, I believe. The 9.1 issue is a different beast.

I'm curious to know what you mean by "type of Apple ID?" I've had my ID for at least 10 years but my wife and son have only had ID's for two years and they are not experiencing any of the issues that I am. My issues include everything you note. What I have come to suspect is that the issue is related to iOS 9.1 and our Apple ID - but there is one other thing that I suspect is the cause and that is an Apple Music subscription. I had one until last week - cancelled after my phone started having app store issues, and not able to update apps, plus apple music causing phone freezes, playlists not visible. Ok, I cancelled my Apple Music but my wife and son never did the 3 month trial, I did and paid subscribed after my 3 month trial ended. The first thing that happened with my phone was Apple Music eating up to 6GB of my free drive space within a week of use. I read that if you log out of Apple Music it clears the cache, so I did and it does clear whatever secret cache it keeps, but I was not able to log back in. It took many attempts and reboots to be able to log in to my iTunes account on the phone and that also logged me in to Apple Music. Except that after this Apple Music never worked right, and all the other issues already described in this thread began to crop up.

I'm thinking about doing what some have suggested, and that is to create a new iTunes account with new apple ID and link (family share) the new account to my Apple ID that is experiencing issues so I can have access to my purchased apps. If anyone is actually doing this I'd like to know is this works? My phone is useless until Apple fixes this bug and it may not get fixed with iOS 9.2.

This bug is so frustrating. I've restored my phone three times. Sometimes what helps is just powering off and on my phone. I used to have the 5s and it worked great. I hope Apple finds a solution to this. I have had my Apple ID for many years and have purchased so much music that I can't even listen to on my phone. Kevin, my ios Senior Advisor has been very understanding, but even he is stumped. This bug has also been affecting my health app. It doesn't store any of my information.

Looks like a 3rd beta of 9.2 was released. If anyone has any luck with that let us know..
